Smile All Japan in full force in NYC Sept. 26

This show sure looks like a smash in the making. Again, anyone interested in a tail-gating session @ Fridays before the show? I think there is a TGI Friday's like 1-2 blocks from this joint.

DOUGLAS STRIPPED OF MLW WORLD TITLE...
FATAL FOUR LOTTERY TO TAKE PLACE 9.26.02 IN NYC!

    For Immediate Release:

(NEW YORK, NY): It is with great regret that Major League Wrestling ("MLW") informs its fans, fighters, and the press that effective 10:00 A.M. (EST) September 13, 2002 Troy Martin, known professionally as Shane Douglas has been stripped of the MLW World Heavyweight Championship. The decision was made based on actions unbefitting a champion including failure to defend the MLW World Heavyweight Championship in his open contract challenge bout that was scheduled for September 26th.

"While this is an unfortunate situation, it is a decision that we find necessary in order to protect the credibility of the World Heavyweight Championship. Further, we believe that MLW's solution will truly reflect the company's vision of hybrid wrestling, with four of the top fighters of the modern era competing in two outstanding matches," states MLW Chief Executive Office Court Bauer.

MLW will hold a sudden death World Heavyweight Championship match between the first two names picked from the fatal four lottery on September 26 at the Manhattan Center Ballroom in New York City. The remaining two fighters will compete in the semi main event to determine the #1 contender for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship. The fighters involved in this lottery have been determined by their past performance in MLW rings and abroad. These competitors include:

-Satoshi Kojima: One of All Japan's top contenders for the Triple Crown Championship.
-Taiyo Kea: A finalist for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship on June 15th.
Jerry Lynn: A semi-finalist for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship on June 15th.
-Sabu: One of the most profound and innovative fighters in the past ten years who had very successful championship runs as the ECW World Heavyweight and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.

13 days and counting until the next chapter in hybrid wrestling unfolds and it is with great excitement that MLW announces a match that will see a new MLW World Heavyweight Champion crowned in New York City at the Manhattan Center Ballroom at 311 West 34th Street on September 26 when MLW RELOADs at 7:45 PM!

    Other matches already announced include:
    -Steve Corino vs. Vampiro
-"1000%" Guapo" Shocker vs. "Extreme Chairman" La Parka
-Michinoku Pro Wrestling's Dick Togo & Ikuto Hidaka vs. "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels & Low Ki'!
-Joel Gertner will make an announcement about his future in professional wrestling!
-"Dr. Death" Steve Williams & PJ Friedman vs. the Samoan Island Tribe
    -Chris Candido vs. CW Anderson
-Michinoku Pro Wrestling's Dick Togo & Ikuto Hidaka vs. "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels & Low Ki'!

Talking Puroresu fans meet up in front of Manhattan Center

    Hey guys,

I think it would be a great idea to meet up for a tailgate kind of thing where we can discuss puro and maybe exchange contact info.

I used to do a puro-type club from Kims Video called TOKYO EXTREME WARZONE but people tended to lose interest and never come back.

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TOKYOEXTREMEWARZONE/

In any case, if you would like to coordinate something, check out my club on Yahoo or just email me because there will be a few people joining me from out of town...

    PEACE

It pains me that this show is booked on a Thursday, because I can't make the trip. Real jobs suck. What kind of nut books an indy wrestling show on Thursday? I mean really. Thusday?!?!?!?

The idiots at Ticketmaster don't say anything about the event on their Web... I tried buying tickets on the Tower Records near NYU but they didn't have it...

Is Togo & Hidaka vs. Daniels and Low-Ki happening twice?

They've been having all kinds of problems with the building and the tickets. If this keeps up you'll only be able to buy tickets at the door. I really wish they could have moved it to a weekend were the puro talent would be available. Looks like it's home video for me. At least Joey Styles does the commentary. That's pretty much the only plus of not being there live though

    I got tickets today

I hope I didn't waste my money on this card. I'm not a big fan of any of those Japanese guys, but I really do like Steve Williams and Terry Funk (whose name was added according to MLW newsletter that was sent out today).

    Lightbulb MLW questions

Totally excited to see the show.

I was jsut looking at the mlw.com site and saw that they are based out of Westchester NY and DC??? Where in Westchester?

Anyway, Funk on the show is a great plus for me.

However, I forked over $35 to see Kojima. He's the best imho.

I was also curious about that since I live in Westchester. I checked the domain info, but it only lists their contact in DC.

    emailed webmaster (mlwrep)

spoke with the "mlwrep" (webmaster@mlw.com) and he said they are based out of Pleasantville, Westchester, NY & DC, which is nuts cuz I'm from Sleepy Hollow!
