    Mike "Gladiator" Awesome

There was a report on PuroresuPower that Mike Awesome is coming to All Japan. Now, I like Awesome from his time in ECW and FMW, and I think he was wasted in WCW and WWE. I think he will certainly fit in better than Kronik ever did.

    What do you think?
Proud enough for you to call me arrogant
Greedy enough to be labeled a thief
Angry enough for me to go and hurt a man
Cruel enough for me to feel no grief...

I think Gladiator was on track to contend and even get the Triple Crown if only Heyman didn't call him back to the U. S.

Hell, I think Gladiator would (and still will) make a great Triple Crown holder. Maybe he should shoot on Goldberg, hit him with a chair...

Mike Awesome has actually wokerd in All Japan before,on their first Tokyo Dome show, and later again Kenta Kobashi in a singles match before the split. In that match,he actually gave Kobashi a sound thrashing and Kobashi came back and won the match. I had read that the plan was to bring in Awesom full time in All Japan and team him with Vader to win the tag team titles instead of Steve Williams,...but Awesome signed with ECW and that went out the window. Since All Japan has always been much more of a "big man's" company,he would have fit in well.

    Thumbs up Mike Awesome

Mike Awesome will get his reputation back, now that All Japan has this dormant bad guy again. He'll be ready to take the Triple Crown title...he is the most talented Gaijin they have, other than Goldberg.

I'm not really sure on this one. Awesome certainly has the size and agility to work in All Japan and can probably work pretty stiff. However, I'm not sure he's any good in matches where he doesn't have chairs, tables, and suicidal opponents to work with. A match against Honma might work, but this isn't FMW. I haven't seen the aforementioned Kobashi match, but I'm a little skeptical until I see him there. Sadly, he's still by far the best gaijin they have right now.

If they really want a "new" gajin monster in AJ then they should let Clark & Awesome win the TAG straps... Clark getting pinned later and therefore bring back some sense in there... After all, Clark & Adams had wins over Muto/Kea and Barton/Steele, 2 of AJ's top teams...

Then Let awesome pick up some big wins against Williams, Hines, maybe even destroy Clark to end his AJ contract... And later wins over Muto & Tenryu in big matches... Do mot feed him Kea or Kojima...

And follow up with the big win for the TC and there's your huge giant gajin...

I agree with Jason that I think he needs someone who is willing to take insane bumbs for him to look good. I don't know what kind of matches he could put on with the likes of Muto or Kojima, or anyone else whose name isn't Spike Dudley. I'm not going to pass judgement on him yet, but I just don't think It'll work. BTW, does anyone know how old Mike Awesome is?

If you have seen some of Mike Awesome's recent work in WWE you'll notice he is not the performer of old (and it aint just because he was going nowhere).

I haven't seen a lot of Awesome's work in the WWE, but that's because he was never used on TV. When he hit WCW he was at first a monster, the former ECW champ, putting Hogan through a table... then came the "Fat Chick Thriller"... (groan)... The last I saw him he was being yelled at by Bischoff for watching Smackdown.

I think that he'll be a great gaijin monster for All Japan... at least better than Kronik...

If he can get back up to the level he was at in FMW he could be a huge asset to AJ and a great Gaijin champ. I think he fits AJ pretty well (at least in the traditional sense) as he works fairly stiff but also isn't afraid of taking stiff shots himself. Him against Kawada would be a classic, and I wouldn't mind seeing him have a go at Kojima either.

Sorry if this is a little anal, but when Aweseome first showed up in WCW, it was Nash, not Hogan, who he put through a table. In my opinion, that show may have been the last great Nitro.

I think that Awesome would be great in All Japan because obviously he has a history in Japan and if they utilize him in a good role like FMW did, he would be a great Triple Crown holder.
