I read with Kawada out (but coming back soon... ), Kea injured ( ), and Tenryu possibly jumping to Choshu's new organization ( ), Mutoh was thinking about cancelling this year's carnival. Thankfully, it's back on.

Proud enough for you to call me arrogant
Greedy enough to be labeled a thief
Angry enough for me to go and hurt a man
Cruel enough for me to feel no grief...
Just because the tour is called "Champion Carnival" doesn't mean there will be a CC tournament. At Tom Zenk's Web site there are many pictures of his being in a "Champion Carnival" tour before 1990, however the tournament was suspended in 1983 and not brought back until 1991!
Hopefully there will be a tournament as well. I know it may not be as deep as some past years due to injuries and defections, but it's tradition and could be used to help elevate someone (Kojima!!). If depth is a problem, add a few Zero-One guys to the mix (Ohtani, Tanaka, etc..).
I'd like to see Kojima go over Mutoh in the finals of the CC, then proceed to beat Hashimoto to win back the Triple Crown for All Japan. Last I saw, Kawada's return is still set for the last day of the CC tour, so, as of now, it doesn't look like he'll be in the tournament.
