That look really isn't new as that is what he wears whenever he wrestles as Great Muta now. I believe those pics are from the first Wrestle-1 show in November. It is a pretty strange look.
... covering up the egg on his face? Wrestle-1 was not a big success like he hoped, and All Japan is losing business... maybe he'll blame it on an evil twin...

Proud enough for you to call me arrogant
Greedy enough to be labeled a thief
Angry enough for me to go and hurt a man
Cruel enough for me to feel no grief...
Keiji Muto is the man. The new Great Muta outfits are awesome. AJ is sluggish now because it doesn't have a real strong roster. Give it time. The surest thing is that it will sink or sail.

That I frankly like the fact every so often Mutoh morphs Muta. Keeps the character fresh. But I will say also I wish he brought out Kokushi Muso more frequently.
That being said, I think that Mutoh needs to take time and closely look at the situation. Does he need to keep reinventing the character because he does not want it to stale? Or is it because he needs to be more theatrical as his quality of work in the ring has deteriorated to such a point it is necessary? If it is the former then good on him. If it is the later, then Keiji, for those of us who fondly watch your career....start the retirement tour, pass the torch, and work behind the scenes to rebuild All Japan into the company it once was, I hope can be again.
Wow! I couldn't agree with you more Mutoh Mania. That is the least markish thing I have heard said in quite a while anywhere- Good for you. It's sad to see Mutoh in such a bad way, but then again he is much older now, with a lot more on his table, and a pair of broken knees. His first concentration should be on the company and how to resurrect the fallen giant even if that means Mutoh/a the wrestler is not the saviour. Misawa has struggled at times while booking his promotion and keeping himself and or his buddy "Rat Boy" on top, as has Ultimo when doing *** pushes for himself or his closest guy; but in the end, both Misawa and Ultimo took a back seat and let someone else run the show, a.e. Kobashi, Akiyama, CIMA, Magu, etc. which has helped those promotions greatly and probably eleviated some of the pressure off of running the whole show.
I am honored and humbled by your words. I am a fan of Mutoh but I am able to see that what was, is no longer. I remember seeing a very young Ric Flair live and marking out...but when I see Flair in the ring now I am saddened. I am not as saddened yet by Mutoh, but I have to say I don't want to be. I would not want to feel the pity that I feel when I see Flair now.
Now, if and when the Farewell Tour occurs, I am going to end up in debt to my wife for life because I want to attend his final match. But I hope it will be his final match and he will not a la Terry Funk retire and retire and retire.
