    Keiji Mutoh

Whats been going on wit mutoh? He has changed his look right?I think I saw him wearing a mask as Muta now.Shaved head Goatee. What brought about this change. Why did he abandon the old Muta persona?Does he still spray his mists under his new Muta gimmick?

The fact that he was balding didn't help!!!

Did you see him in WCW? He looked too old. But like a true legand, he came back to New Japan in 2001 and brought his BATT personna. He had a shaved head, had a goatee, and wears long white & black pants with tons of writings on it.

He was SO over as the "shinning wizard" personna that he was voted wrestler of the year in 2001. He wrestled many matches in All Japan cards since AJ & NJ had a working relationship in 01, and won the Triple Crown in Japan. He also won the All Japan Unified Tag Titles with Taiyo Kea, and the NJ IWGP Tag titles as well with Kea.

If you look for them, you'll find Mutoh with all 6 titles on his shoulders ant waist at the same time... He was so over and ****ed with NJ that he signed to wrestle with AJ in Jan 2002. He then bought Mrs. Baba's AJ stock and was named president. All Japan Pro Wrestling is now HIS.

He then decided to kill All Japan with terrible booking, giving away tons of cash to Goldberg, booking new American wrestlers like Gladiator (Mike Awesome) and Gigantes (Malice or The Wall). He is giving away huge pushes to terrible wrestlers (like Arashi) and his friend KEndo Ka Shin has been Jr. Champ for about 15 years now

I think he was sent by Inoki...

I suppose he's kinda like the David Bowie of Japanese wrestling, he keeps changing his image and nobody seems to really understand him.

IMO Mutoh is still trying to show that he can be, how can I say this, with the times. He figures, since his hair is gone, he can put up a whole new version of an "old charachter". He is still a draw no doubt, but he doesn't need this.

    No-go Muto.

It sounds to me, Puro n00b that I am, that wants to be the "Sports Entertainment" king of Japan, but is hampered down by two key things.

1: The Japanese aren't "trained" to appriciate sports entertainment.

2: He's not sure what makes SE work (i.e. failing to hype a major PPV at all, or keeping an "all-hype" guy like Goldberg around for 2 shows.)

Muto in AJ will never work...

In New Japan, just before leaving to AJ, he was still one of the main wrestlers... He really should have stayed...
