Kojima & Hayashi tag champs in totality!!!!

Kojima & Hayashi the current All-Asia tag champs under the Kosuke & Shiryu gimmick, have now captured the AJPW World tag team titles from Muta & Arashi.

Does anybody think that the All-Asia & the World tag belts should be unified???

My feeling is at this point, they should either

    A) either retire the belts and create a Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Title or

    B) vacate the titles like Misawa & Ogawa did when they won all three titles from No Fear, so some deserving talent (like Honma & Miyamoto or guys like Araya or Okamura) have a chance at being called champion. Of course I could go on my ten-thousandth rant about how they should do this and purchase the All-Asia heavyweight belt back from Lee Wyang-poo who now has ownership of the belt in Korea and reactivate that title, but I don't think anything would come of that.

That being said,I prefer the option retireing the belts and going with option "A". Both New Japan and NOAH have Jr Hvywt Tag Team Titles so maybe its time All Japan joined the 21st century in this concept.

Ok, and what juniors will hold their junior tag titles? They don't even have enough juniors to run a singles division, nevermind a tag division. If they can be assured of getting some of Zero-One's juniors and gaijin juniors like Low-Ki, and a returning Spanky, as well as guys like Hi69, sure, go for it.. But they need to do something about the singles title first, as KaShin is garbage.

At least Hayashi is getting a nod with the tag titles.

I vote nay on unification, and get the All Asia titles into the hands of less established guys, like Turmeric Storm.

There aren't enough Junior heavyweights in All JApan to have Junior Tag titles in my opinion.

I would like them to vacate the All Asia titles or unify them. simple!

What both Spunkwhy & Luds said make sense & I agree that AJ does NOT have many quality Jrs (or even Heavyweights at this time for that matter). I would REALLY like to see Miyamoto & Honma or Okamura & Araya win the All Asia Tag Team Titles,...but we have seen Miyamoto & Honma and also Okamura teaming with either Araya or even Nagai get passed over for a run with the belts. Or outsiders win the belts and defend them almost exclusively on other companies shows. And since they seem to treat Miyamoto & Honma more as both Jrs I was hoping to see them both finally get a shot at being champs.

What I would do (and I know Mutoh probably won't as it makes too much sense) it do what you both have suggested as my FIRST choice,....but with the Jr belts, I would pick up some good indy Jrs and have them work some AJ shows with the titles. I wouldn't even mind seeing Takaiwa & Hoshikawa from ZERO-ONE win them. Hashimoto doesn't seem to give Hoshikawa the respect or proper placing on the card he deserves. Hoshikawa has regularly been beaten by opponents on Z-1 shows that are not good workers,so maybe Hashimoto would (or maybe he wouldn't) let him work some AJ shows and look good as well as hold half their Jr titles. There seems to be less reluctance to let your Jr stars work on another companies shows. Both Hoshikawa & Takaiwa have been overdue as a run at holding Z-1's Jr Hvywt Title. What is Hashimoto thinking?

Anyway,I guess my point is this is what I'd LIKE to see,not necessarily what I think will happen. I was also thinking of a cost effective way to make the undercard more entertaining by signing some solid Jr indy talent.

But you couldn't be more right about KaShin Spunkwhy, he just doesn't even TRY to have a solid match any more. They need to give that belt to either Kaz Hayashi or Ryuji Hijikata as soon as possible.

Well, it seems that they're keeping them separate, and on 02/11 they will defend both titles. They defend the All-Asia belts against The Gladiator & Buchanan and the World belts against Turmeric Storm.

    Actually, dudes,...

...it's the other way around. Turmeric Storm challenges for Asian Tag, Gladiator & Buchanan challenges for Double Cup.

In that case Puru, it would be kinda odd for Mutoh & Kartman were to lose the All Asia belts first to Tumeric Storm and keep the Unified Tag straps...

    That would be a first

Keep them seperate and let Tumeric Storm have the All Asia Titles. Tumeric Storm deserve some sort of push with the belts as Honma and Miyanmoto are vastly underrated wrestlers.

I agree with you Phoenix, but I still maintain that it would be a funny situation if Mutoh & Arashi were to defeat Awesome & Buchanan to keep the World tag and to lose the All Asia to Tumeric Storm.

Wouldn't Tumeric Storm be instantly #1 contenders for the World titles? Probably...

    Yeah I know, why?

I'm saying that having the World Tag Champions lose their All Asia staps would make the new All Asia champs #1 contenders for the World straps...

    You're right, it sounds confusing
