All-Japan President Keiji Muto stated today that he is ready to declare war on New Japan due to New Japan President Masakazu Kusama’s stance on not sending New Japan talent to work the 3 Muskateers 20th Anniversary show on 9/2 at Osaka Prefectural Gym. When hearing of this, Kusama said that New Japan is the leading organization in Japan and if anyone wants to fight them, bring it on, as they will be crushed. Muto & Taiji Sakaguchi (New Japan Osaka promoter) made the plans for the big show on 9/2, but it was before Kusama elected President and when he took office and heard of this, he decided against helping Muto. Kusama said that if Muto wants to go to war, he has nominated Shinsuke Nakamura to lead the New Japan side and said that blood would be shed.
Antonio Inoki is also against New Japan participating on the 3 Muskateers show saying that it isn’t “righteous” and that New Japan shouldn’t restrict, but reform their stance on outside involvement. Inoki also said that if Masahiro Chono wants to be an independent contractor, he should go ahead and resign from the New Japan active roster.
Well if we had another AJ vs. NJ series, I assume that AJ's top stars (Mutoh, Kojima, Kea, Kawada) would be booked extremelly strong. They would probably go over geys like Sasaki, Tenzan, Nagata...
love to see a kojima vs. tenzan classic and a mutoh vs. sasaki old timers match .. just kidding about the old timers. Then probably you would see kea vs. possibly tanahashi or shibata. Then kawada and nagai vs. kashin and nagata.
I agree, I hope they can work something out coz I would enjoy for those 3 to work together and entertain the fans. What happened to all the interpromotional work that used to go on in Japan in the '90's. That's what seperated Puroresu from the States coz WWF and WCW never did agree to work out such a deal. That is cool when all the Puroresu companies work together. Politics I guess.
For those of you who are anti shoot groups
(PRIDE & K-1), you better thank them because if not for them ALL of the interpromotional bouts we have seen in the last four years would not have happened. Tis a shame this could not have happened even 7 years ago when all the aces were in their primes.
I don't know who to thank for it but i am SOO glad that there is this openness to compete between different wrestlers where as in the early 90's here in america each company acted like the other didnt exist. This open battle format makes you believe that the fan is more important now than ever because we can finally see the dream matches that we always wanted to see. There are still dream matches that I would LOVE to see but there still isnt the openness that there should be.
1. Mutoh vs. Misawa- thats the match everyone wants to see.
2. Kawada vs. Nagata- This would be the japanese version of benoit vs. angle.
3. Kobashi vs. Sasaki- PURE STRONG STYLE
4. Kojima vs. Jun- The future of their respective companies.
5. Jun vs. Ohtani- only if this match could have taken place about 4 years ago.
I dont think any of these matches have taken place. these are some of these dream matches i am still waiting on.
