2006 Champion Carnival

Taiyo Kea defeated Suwama on 2006/05/20 in Tokyo to win this year's Champion Carnival. He defeated Minoru Suzuki in the semi-final earlier on the card while Sumawa defeated the current Triple Crown champ Satoshi Kojima to advance to the finals.

Personally, I'm glad that Kea, an All Japan "native", won the CC when today's All Japan is filled with a bunch of former New Japan guys and indy wrestlers.

I agree, Kea is a great wrestler and has proved it in the past many times.

I thought that it was a biy lame to have the Kojima match finish by count out but they didn't want to give us the big title match already...

It was reported elsewhere that his win over Suzuki was by DQ. If that is a case, a DQ in the CC is like the Indy 500 being won on a techincality rather than an outright victory. Granted this was not the finals, but a DQ in the CC is absurd.
