    Results: AJ 3/24 Korakuen Hall

    All Japan ran the second day of their Champion Carnival tournament on March 24th at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, claiming 2,000 paid. Results:

    1. Ryuji Hijikata defeated Yaz Urano in 8 minutes, 40 seconds with a Fisherman's Buster.

    2. Kazushi Miyamoto & Jimmy Yang defeated Gran Naniwa & Hi69 in 13 minutes, 21 seconds when Miyamoto used a British Fall on Hi69 for the win.

    3. Mike Rotunda & Nobukazu Hirai defeated Shigeo Okumura & Kendo Ka Shin in 11 minutes, 49 seconds when Rotunda used a Blockbuster hold on Okumura for the win.

    4. Nobutaka Araya & Arashi defeated Jim Steele & The Cedman in 10 minutes, 30 seconds when Araya used a moonsault press on Cedman for the win.

    5. Taiyo Kea, George Hines, & Kaz Hayashi defeated Toshiaki Kawada, Hideki Hosaka, Tomoaki Honma in 19 minutes, 40 seconds when Kea used a Hawaiian Smasher on Honma for the win.

    6. In the Champion Carnival A Block, Mike Barton (2 pts) defeated Yoji Anjoh (0 pts) in 13 minutes, 49 seconds with a Powerbomb.

    7. In the Champion Carnival A Block, Satoshi Kojima (2 pts) defeated Mitsuya Nagai (0 pts) in 18 minutes, 6 seconds with a lariat.

    8. In the Champion Carnival B Block, Steve Williams (2 pts) defeated Keiji Mutoh (0 pts) in 15 minutes, 16 seconds with a back-drop driver hold for the 3-count.

    Mutoh loses to Williams ??

    What possibly could be the booking behind this? Are they so desperate for viable heavyweights that they need to elevate Williams?
