I hope I put this in the right thread, I think DDT would go under the indies, but last friday at the ROH Tag Wars 2008 Show in Detroit I got my first taste of Puroresu live. I skipped a few days of classes to head to detroit to catch Kota Ibushi, he literally was the reason I went, and he absolutely tore the house down. I was kind of disappointed he would be in a tag match cause it might keep him out of the ring but that wasnt the case, he worked well with Austin Ares and the Briscoes were great opponents.
I threw some streamers his way, as a good number of people did(I think Aries/Ibushi got the most of the night)I was really disappointed to hear some of the stuff being yelled in his way at first but he made everyone a fan by the end of the night. I guess alot of people just hadnt heard of him yet. I even tried starting an "I-BU-SHI" chant that a few people picked up on and got a thumbs up from Nakazawa who was at ringside. I actually just about got a hole stared right through me when one of the briscoes saw me cheering on Ibushi when I had a Briscoes Shirt on, lol. Ibushi pulled out all his great spots but ended up taking the loss after a spike Jay Driller. I tried to get a "Thank You Kota" chant but the briscoes were holding onto the spotlight while he left.
after the show Kota was signing autographs. I felt bad for him cause he was trying to make a few bucks and people were just having him sign their tickets, but then people started dropping the $10(The Kota Ibushi T-Shirts were all sold out:( ) He was nothing but gracious and nice, even when a girl wanted him to sign her breast. He kept laughing thinking she was joking until Nakazawa assured him it was ok. I got an autographed picture and then took a picture with him. I thanked him and gave him a hand shake and a bow and left. I was so glad to have made the show. ]]>
