I recently obtained a copy of the 22/10/01 FMW PPV where Hayabusa broke his neck and was wondering whether anyone can provide me with a translation of what Hayabusa said when laying on the canvas? I searched around, but couldn't find much information in English, so I was wondering if anyone here could provide links to any information or a direct translation itself.
At the inagural WMF show, Hayabusa came out in a wheelchair, but was able to stand with help. He still has a long way to go, but I'm sure he WILL return.
W*ING Kanemura forever! Long live
Hayabusa! Curry Man is Ichiban!
Deerhoof blow my mind!
Yeah, what The Finnish Dragon said, he basically said that whatever happened to him to keep supporting FMW til the end, sadly I believe this was the beginning of the end for FMW....That match also had a stipulation that the late Mr. Shoichi Arai, President of FMW, would get his spot back on the FMW roster

For those wondering here's something that may or may not help. I read somewhere that by the end of the year Hayabusa was feeling some sensation in his extremities. Knowing how great this man is, I wouldn't be surprised if he made his return soon. Everybody should know by now how many times this man has put his life on the line for FMW. Now all he can do is sit back in a wheelchair and watch young lions like Mammoth Sasaki take over the place which he has held so close to his heart, that being the main event of any show FMW has ever held.
Hayabusa was FMW. He was the franchise, the main event, the ICON of the promotion (sorry Atsushi). It is truly unfortunate what occured to such an incredible worker, but Eiji lives for the biz and his passion has helped in his recovery. I believe we all wish him the best with his new venture (WMF), and hope to once again see him in the ring some day very very soon.
On 12/12 in the Tokyo Korakuen Hall, Hayabusa (Eiji Ezaki) walked to the ring on his on power, using crutches, just 14 months after many thought he would be paralyzed after an accident in the ring in the same building last October.
Before 1,700 fans, Hayabusa addressed the crowd and recalled how a year ago at this time, when he was very ill in the hospital.
First of all, I already know that. But the man was even lucky he could stand at all. I won't doubt whatever ability Hayabusa has left. But you have to remember that it was Arai who robbed him of whatever dignity he had when he was H. and knowing that, I myself wonder if his career is already over? And another thing, I realize Hayabusa is FMW. But if it wasn't for FMW sending him to Mexico, he wouldn't have attained such status! This was because FMW realized that Ezaki still needed training, and in the words of Jerry Lawler to Jeff Jarrett, he was still " A little wet behind the ears".
Today marks the 2 year anniversary of Hayabusa being paralyzed in the ring against Mammoth Sasaki at Korakuen Hall. It's unbelievable about the amount of highs and lows one man has gone through these past 730 days since slipping on the middle rope on a move that he had mastered throughout the years. Eiji Ezaki over came a life threatening sickness while in the hospital shortly after arriving that caused him to be put on such strong drugs, that he does not remember anything from shortly after October 22, 2001 to December 29, 2001 when he would have a open heart surgery to remove the life threatening germs in his heart. He has gone through the bankruptcy of FMW, which he sacrificed his body for years to. He lost a former boss and friend Shoichi Arai to suicide, as well as a former co-worker and friend Kodo Fuyuki to cancer. But he has seen good days as well as he was the key part in the forming of WMF and was a key part for the promotions success during the first months of the promotion, although the company has struggled throughout the last few months. He was also able to return to the sight of the accident of Korakuen Hall on his feet, walking for the first time for the public. He spends 3 hours a day in a Tokyo Rehabilitation Center to be able to permanently walk again. Eiji Ezaki has been put through many obstacles these last 2 years, physically and emotionally, but no matter what has proven that he has the heart to overcome each and every obstacle life puts him through, and will remain doing so until he is back in the ring doing what he loves to do, and that's perform for the fans.
