I was just wondering what you all actually thought of Ezaki's 'H' gimmick? Most people I know thought it was pretty lame (What wouldn't seem lame after Hayabusa - the greatest gimmick EVER!) but Ezaki needed to make a change as he had been the same character for years. Personally, having got used to it, I thought that it was pretty good. I really liked the look when he had short spikey silver hair.
So any views/opinions on 'H' would be most appreciated!
what was sodifferent about Hayabusa and H besides his attire? I assumed that H's moves were alot more grounded and such because FMW didnt want Eiji risking his life so much anymore. Is there any truth behind this? Then what happened didnt someone else return as the bogus Hayabusa first and wrestle Eiji and it all led to some Anus Explosion match? Then he returned as Hayabusa in a tag match when he was H and was carted out during the match and then came back out as Hayabusa, but they still lost the match I remember reading all this before but its kinda shady please fill me in.
Also if anyone has and good pictures of Eiji as H I'd like to see them

I liked the Hayabusa gimmick much better than the H gimmick. I just think the H gimmick is too americanized, and that doesn't suit Ezaki. Especially since the Hayabusa was a cool gimmick with a cool mask.

I think the idea was that H had a more extreme style than Hayabusa. H was a wild wrestler, using fire and such, while Hayabusa was more honorable in the ring. Hayabusa was more like Batman, where H was more like Vin Diesel's XXX.
Now, if I recall correctly, Hayabusa lost his mask to Mr. Gannosuke in a match where Gannosuke cheated. Kodo Fuyuki (then commish) ordered Hayabusa to wrestle without the mask, so he came up with H to rebel against the FMW's commish and his lackeys. Then Gannosuke began wrestling under the Hayabusa match (as Dark Hayabusa or Hayabusa 2 or something), leading to a match between H and (Dark) Hayabusa, that was refereed by Shawn Michaels. H won and Gannosuke joined with him, turning against Fuyuki. Then, during a tag match with Gannosuke against (I think) Fuyuki and someone, H came back as Hayabusa. He then switched between the two for a while, but after that I don't know.
The rumour was that Ezaki wanted to wrestle under his own name, but his fans began to leave after the H personality didn't take off like they hoped, so he came back as Hayabusa to please the fans.
If I'm wrong anywhere here, please feel free to correct me on these... this is just from memory and fueled by insomnia.

Yeah, after getting screwed and becoming 'H', Ezaki wrestled Hayabusa (Gannosuke) in a match with Michaels as referee. 'H' won with the Phoenix Splash, and Michaels told Gannosuke to shake Ezaki's hand like a man. 'H' held out his hand, like he did in 1997 but this time they shook (before in 1997 Gannosuke had done a beat down on 'Busa).
He then wrestled on and off as Hayabusa (but always in white for some reason). As El Pollo Guerrera said, he was losing popularity, so in summer 2000, he announced his last match as 'H' and returned as Hayabusa full time.
There are awesome bios and histories at www.bahufmw.com which will have all of this in much more depth, along with a ton of pics as both Hayabusa and 'H'. Bahu really does have a quality site, so three cheers for him!
H was a attempt to evolutionize Hayabusa's character to keep it new.
I have lot all my respect for my namesake...there I would like to be known as WilliamsFan from now on...I feel disgraced with the name of Edge on me...
Person'ly I think the Blue Meanie looked like a gay version of the Blue Meanie!!
Apart from reinventing himself I think Hayabusa was trying to get 'up there' to the heavies that were in command of FMW. Also, I'd say H was more like Atsushi Onita than Hayabusa so you might say he was trying to become the next Onita through this gimmick. Onita (as far as I heard) never liked Ezaki and never trusted him to be successful, thats why FMW took the WBH title off him right after he won it and put it on The Gladiator. And with a ruffer, more grounded style Ezaki was trying to impress everyone into thinking of him as the new Onita.
Eiji's H charachter was just him, as many have said, being much more hardcoe, more extreme than he usually was or is. It was like Rey Mysterio becoming Tommy Dreamer.
