Kintaro Kanemura will face the current Triple Crown Heavyweight champion in a no-rope electric barbed-wire explosive death match on 2003/05/05 at Kawasaki Stadium.
The late Koudoh Fuyuki was originally scheduled in the match against Shin'ya Hashimoto, but since Fuyuki passed away on 04/19, Kanemura will replace him.
Mutoh trying to bring the Triple Crown down in stature by putting it in death matches?

Hashimoto had been asked to do this match before he won the Triple Crown title. He'd most likely accepted the match before it was officially announced at WEW's 3/11 Korakuen Hall show. Hashimoto is most likely going through with this match to pay respect to Fuyuki's spirit. Not to mention it isn't for the Triple Crown title anyway.
When Onita asked Hashimoto to do a death match against him, he refused. Don't get me wrong I am not criticizing Hashimoto, but why did he say no to Onita and yes to Fuyuki, even before Kodo died?
On a side note: Is it me, or was most of the other WEW/WMF wrestlers who were an intergal part of FMW when Fuyuki was in control (IE: Onryo, Hisakatsu Oya, Kaokuro Arai, Sena Wakana, Jun Kasanagi, or no one from the former ECW) or even Atsushi Onita himself were at Fuyki's or Shoichi Arai's funeral? Maybe it's just me.

I'm still puzzled as to why Hashimoto declined the deathmatch and opted for a regular tag last year. Fuyuki had learned of his cancer coming back in mid-late January I believe. Fuyuki knew he didn't have long to live therefore he put out the challenge to face Hashimoto in what would be billed as his last match. Hashimoto accepted the challenge simply because it was pretty much Fuyuki's last wish.
Most of the WEW roster along with guys from WMF, All Japan, New Japan, DDT, NOAH, and other leagues attended Fuyuki's funeral. I wouldn't say that Kaoruko Arai, Jun Kusanagi, and Sena Wakana were integral parts of FMW. Ohya probably didn't attend due to the fact that he lives in a more northern region of Japan and I think he may be currently hurt. Others may not have attended due to prior engagements or what have you. Though, some may have been their and just not been caught on film.

Looking at Kanemura's and Hashimoto's entrance with the throwing of Fuyuki's ashes, I thought wht a way to go.
