    Greatest FMW match

In the history of FMW...what do you people think is the Greatest Match of all time? It can be a technical masterpeice, a "hardcore" massacre, or just the most important match.

    Toyoda Retirement Match

Definately Combat Toyoda vs. Megumi Kudo from the May Kawasaki Baseball Stadium show in '96 you just need to know the background between these two before you watch the match so it will seem better.

I would say the tag team deathmatch with Terry Funk and Mr. Pogo vs. Hayabusa and Masato Tanaka.

If i remember thats when Hayabusa got his mask ripped off after he lost.

Actually they called him Invader 1, but it was really the Invader 3, under the Invader 1 role...

For most important, I'd have to say the first Onita/Funk deathmatch that was from either 89 or 90 and sold 50,000+ tickets at Kawasaki Stadium. It made FMW a major player at the time and, for better or worse, established garbage as a legitimate style.

For an actual match, I was rather fond of the Hayabusa/Ooya 30 minute draw. It's on one of the Tokyopop DVDs. It's not hardcore, it's not nonstop highspots, just good old fashioned ring psychology.

For most "hardcore" I dunno, pick any gimmick match that you can't say in one breath...Kudo's retirement match was not the most "hardcore" garbage match I've ever seen, but with the exeption of some of Onita's early garbage matches it was one of the few that ever told a story, and that makes it all time classic in my book.

I agree about Kudo's retirement match, it had a good story, and I'm not ashamed to say that when I saw the aftermath when Kudo handed the belts to Nakayama I shed some tears. that was a touching moment.

That's a good match, but I don't like Pogo's series of knifes he went through in the match, from the sickle to the long knive to the dagger...and the ring work is really sloppy in this match...

I dare you to find one Pogo match that isn't really sloppy after 92 or 93, or even one where his bump total reaches double digits.

Hayabusa Vs. Gannousuke: FMW Double Titles
    Onita/Tanaka/Kanemura Vs. Funk/Cactus/Awesome: FMW Streetfight

My personal favorite would have to be the Hayabusa Vs. Onita, Timebomb Cage Deathmatch when Onita retired the first time. Watching Hayabusa do that moonsault, although he missed, was just awesome.

FMW´s first matches. In that times it was really hardcore. Goto, Onita, Funk, Sabu, Sheik and Tiger Jeet Singh...
I can smell it, I can hear it... Its triple H!!! he just won the world title on a fluke! (again)

I never watched FMW before the Hayabusa era so my favorite match would be anything with Awesome, Tanaka, Gannosuke and Hayabusa
