"WMF announced that their WMF 2/11/04 Korakuen Hall show will be their last. The promotion which has been going through trouble since the this past Summer with with Laing, Inc. pulling out due to the finance loss. Meaning the promotion the promotion will close down in mid February much like FMW did in 2002. Unlike FMW though, the wrestlers will be going into the show, knowing its the last for the company. It looks like Kensuke Sasaki vs. Mr. Gannosuke will be the last match for the promotion, although Mammoth Sasaki who has been the brightest shining star and the one person who really made a name out of himself out of the promotion has not been announced to a card yet. I expect most of the wrestlers to become full time Fuyuki Army Promotion wrestlers and take more Zero One bookings. The promotion really did start out hot at the beginning. Their debut show on 8/28/02 sold out the Tokyo Differ Ariake. Their 12/12/02 Korakuen Hall show was jam packed from the opening match to the main event and drew a very healthy 1700 fans. Then they started just focusing on the main event by paying wrestlers from other promotions to come out and main event a Korakuen Hall show. Bringing in Masato Tanaka to take on Mammoth Sasaki drew a decent 1500 fans, and got a good main event match up.
But I really felt WMF took a nose dive which really sticks out is on 5/24/02 with Mammoth Sasaki taking on Mr. Gannosuke at the Osaka Sky Dome Hall. The match had been setup in December, but was not followed through at all, so the interest was lost in Mammoth trying to defeat the top name in the promotion to become the undisputed ace of the promotion. Instead, the show drew a poor crowd, which resulted in the match being booked only 11 minutes with Mammoth winning in a disappointing match, and that was really the last big match that could have drawn good with a WMF wrestler vs. WMF wrestler. Then they tried running house shows, and that turned out to be a huge disaster by only drawing from 100 to 200 fans in North Japan. Then even a bigger disaster took place as their third Korakuen Hall show turned out to be a huge flop as they had advertised Atsushi Onita for months in the main event of the July 25, 2003 show. Onita canceled at the last minute for an emergency Japanese Diet meeting and left WMF high and dry by never coming back. Another major problem was the booking which I do believe was done by WMF President Yamada with Hayabusa having say on what would happen. When Kodo Fuyuki died, and Go Ito took over and WMF began working with Fuyuki Army Promotion, Go Ito began booking the WMF guys better than WMF was booking them (except Mammoth). By the one year anniversary show, you could tell that the promotion was not the same as the 6 man main event felt like just a regular house show main event and the show drew about half of what their debut show did. WMF began using Tenryu, and although Tenryu was a draw, and help draw decent crowds, the money it cost to bring him in almost wasn't even worth it. WMF lasted 18 months, and now it will be just the Fuyuki Army Promotion to carry on the FMW history, and hopefully it will continue and last much longer."
I seen it coming but I didn't think it would happen.
My thoughts are actually with Hayabusa, because the question becomes where does he go from here? Does he go to Fuyuki Promotions? Zero One? DDT (Whom WMF was feuding with) or where? I hope Busa lands somewhere.

Well, let's hope that Hayabusa continues his recovery and is able to land another position somewhere else.
