Actually it was started and ran by the late Kodo Fuyuki. It was basically a bad WWE rip off with some hardcore thrown in. Entertainment wrestling was Fuyuki's vision of puroresu(see late '90's-'00s FMW). WEW featured a lot of former FMW stars like Tetsuhiro Kuroda. I am not sure if they're still in business or not. I believe they run like monthly shows now under the name "Fuyuki-Gun". On a side note, Hayabusa's promotion was called WMF-Wrestling's Marvelous Future.
No matter what troubles you have, always love life and live in triumph.
fuyuki-gun (or fuyuki army productions) held its farewell show on may 5th due to fuyuki's widow pulling out of the company. They now promote under the name apache army.
also wmf is still around only without Hayabusa they curently are runing a round robin tourney on the current tour.
wmf is still run by the same people. I do not think hayabusa was in charge, they just hired him to be a on screen figure head. I do not think it is run by any of the wrestlers.

WMF is now ran by Mr. Gannosuke.
Tetuhiro Kuroda still wrestles for Apache Army and runs his own shows as well as working for Zero One.
Hitsakatsu Ohya has retired or is semi retired.
Chocoball Mukai has left the porn industry and is concentrating on being a wrestler.
Hope this helps.

So is FMW and WEW the same entity? Kind of like how AWA became AWA-STARS after it was re-opened is WEW an actualy exstention of the legal entity once known as Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling? Wrest. Infom. Archive has got me confused on this
This is actually a lot simpler than you're making it. As an aside, any relationship Gagner's AWA has to Gagne's AWA is suspect at best. We've talked about him enough elsewhere, if you want more information on that search the forums. If you want to know something about him that hasn't already been discussed, post it in the appropriate forum. Or call him and tell him you need Austin vs. Goldberg for a county fair.
Late in FMW's run they replaced the Brass Knux title with the WEW Title, as they did all the FMW titles. Business went down the crapper due to the stylistic change of the promotion, and as a result a lot of the boys got screwed on paydays. This was one of the things that prompted Masato Tanaka to try to get a long term deal with ECW in 2000. That should tell you how bad it was.
After FMW closed WEW was opened as a seperate promotion, completely independent from FMW, despite WEW using a lot of FMW wrestlers. There was no business tie between the two promotons. You can debate whether or not that WEW Titles under the WEW banner share the lineage of the WEW titles under the FMW banner.
AWA-STARS is the obly wrestling company I know of that was closed and then reopened under new management and new banner. Thats why I compared them. No one would explain to me whether FMW closed and was thin bought and had its name changed to WEW. I guess WEW and FMW are the same..
