    Favorite death match stipulation

I was wondering what people's favorite death match stipulationes are. I mean, stuff like Barbed wire ropes, light tubes, explosions, etc. I always liked exploding barbed wire matches and fans bring the weapons matches.

Do you have a favorite match of this type? I really liked the Matsunaga/ Jun Kasai match, where Kasai bent the "logic" of the barbed wire by actually rope walking it. Also, I dunno, there was just someting about the Cactus Jack/Terry Funk barbed wire matches that I really liked. They always seemed so exciting.

the simple deathmatches are best my fav's include nrbw, panes of glass, and barbwire board.

although the ocasional gimmick overload match is fun. haven't seen the full version. But the Ryuji Ito Vs Abdullah Kobayashi looked like a fun match based on the music vid i saw of it.

I'm a big fan of the Sabu-Terry Funk barbed wire deathmatch from ECW, and for Thumbtacks I don't really have one...

Yeash, I like the sabu/funk match too. I think it went much farther then people were expecting, certainly in the us at the time. I like matches where they use the gimmicks as a way to see what the threshhold is, you know, how much each opponent can take. I also think its cool when the deathmatches have like rising action with the gimmicks used: chair shots and tables first transitions to fire and barbed ropes transitions to barbed wire boards and thumbtacks, until they hit things like salt, explosives, and light tubes.

I haven't seen many of these matches, but I love the idea of deathmatch gimmick overload. There's just something about seeing something described as a "no-rope barbed-wire 200-volt electrifying exploding weapons barbed-wire baseball bat thumbtacks fire barbed-wire board bed of nails exploding ring street fight death match" that just seems really cool.

In a Deathmatch I like anything that's thrown at me! I haven't seen anything in Deathmatches I didn't like and I've seen pretty much everything.

Yeah, that's true... I remember when I first saw a match with The Shiek in FMW and he threw a fireball at Onita.

I literally jumped out of my seat as I'd never seen something like that before. This was about 2 years ago when I was first getting into Deathmatches, mind you.

Give me the Bathhouse Deathmatch. Nothing adds more to a wrestling match than hot naked Japanese chicks. Nothing.

Lol, that too! I was surprised they actually did that though as the Japanese are typically a polite and moral race of people.

My favorite Deathmatch type would have to be either the No Ropes barbed Wire match or Exploding Ring Deathmatches.

I also thought the Matsunaga vs. Hido bed of roses and thumbtacks match was interesting just because of the fact that they used Doppleganagers (Truss Locks) to hold the roses up. Anyone with knowlege of construction knows that they must hurt when slammed upon.
