Hmm, eating poo or death... a rather difficult choice to make. I'm having trouble thinking up of some viable new death match ideas. If you look at the past, IWA came up with a ton of interesting deathmatch ideas, usually involving Matsunaga, but they weren't really worked well. I'm thinking that more and more, death matches are going to have to feature a stronger wrestling proponent and better psychology, in order to improve. We can come up with alot of interesting ways for guys to get lacerated, or covered in something that burns, but, well, how many barbed wire match variants can we come up with that are more than just a stipulation (I use the negative aspect of the term; stuff like barbed wire boards are incredible when used right)? So, future deathmatch ideas, in my opinion, should try to become as well worked as other matches and I think people are getting better at mixing the violence and the wrestling.
So, I'd like to see stuff like a submission death match, or an "ironman" deathmatch (making it, like, 30 minutes or so). I really like alot of the TNA concept matches, so it would be great if people used things like the ultimate X but also employ deathmatch elements. Now that I think about it though, what I'd like to see is a return to those great FMW street fights, that had WIN*G vs the FMW loyalists, which were all out, well done considering the environment, and a ton of fun. If people can do more of that style of wrestling: brawl, spot driven, real nitty-gritty in an old school 4-horseman kind of way, and use deathmatch elements, than I would be very happy.

czw did a deathmatch version of ultimate X called barbed wire madness.
they had barbed wire boards, barbed wire chairs and and barbed wire trash can then they had four poles and made the X but with barbed wire and hung thumbtacks, a staple gun and a barbed wire bat
It wasn't all that bad from what I've been told... I've yet to get the tape though as the guy at smartmarkvideo.co.uk is being a real... yeah... and can't seem to give me the tapes I've ordered.
