I believe that puroresu has a large chance of suceeding on US TV, alongside other Japanese combat sports or on a Japanese culture channel; I need your support to get this thing off the ground:

I'd love to see Japanese professional wrestling in the US. But I can't sign the petition. If puroresu does make it the US that gives Vince a better look and a better chance of striking a deal with either NJPW or AJPW. I don't want puroresu to be involved with the WWE in any way, because there is still a chance (very small but it's still there) to save Royal Craft in AJPW. I just can't see Japanese professional wrestling shown in America without being influenced somehow by the WWE.

You bet your sweet bippy I signed the petition. I checked out the forum while at work and saw it listed with 19 signatures. By the time I got home there were 47. Too cool.

Now, I've said before that an entire TV channel would be unlikely. The kind of investment required would be too high, and way too risky. I would be happy with a weekly two-hour show on one of the sports channels. But this petition shows the broadcasters that there is an interest in this form of entertainment, and maybe this will cause them to cast their eyes to the Land of the Rising Sun in their search for the next ratings-grabber. I firmly believe that a properly-marketed show would bring in near-Smackdown ratings.

Well, this means there would be puroresu on US TV, which would bug the hell out of me as there's none in the UK, but I guess there'd be more chance of it on UK TV if it's on in the States

We can PRAY that they screen Puroresu on television over here. Sky Sports are showing UFC, and possibly there's a chance that they'll screen PRIDE in the near future. I may e-mail Sky to find out if you want me to

sky sports is a great sports channel. i don't think it would take much to get them to show puroresu too if they saw how many people would want that.

Yes, Sky are a very good channel. They seem to know what sports are at the cutting edge of entertainment. It's thanks to Sky Sports that the WWE still runs it's shows (Channel 4 made a mockery of it - cutting the shows even at 2:00 in the morning and moving WWF Heat around in their schedule)

They are onto a winner bringing UFC onto our television, as they've apparetly recieved good ratings and a very good buyrate for the UFC 38 PPV (shown live on Sky Box Office). Who knows, maybe we'll see some form of Puroresu on British TV. I've e-mailed Sky in the last two hours and look forward to their reply

I haven't seen UFC on Sky since the Albert Hall PPV. Have they dropped it? I admit I don't know much about MMA but I had started to watch it a bit.

And are Bravo gonna follow up on their Revival show? What kind of ratings did they get for it? I get the feeling they would be more likely to show puroresu than Sky Sports as Bravo is a bit more 'out there'. They showed ECW for a while and I now wish they would show the repeats from the '96 era that they showed around '99.

And does Eurosport show any like action now? I know they used to.

Even though I live in London, I still think puroresu should be more than just tapes you order from these smallish websites that keep going out of business. Sign the darn petition, it'll only take a minute!

Petetions (especially online ones) are pointless and serve to do nothing but take away 30 seconds of my life that I'll never get back again. Can you think of even one of those online petitions that actually worked?
