Just when you thought it was safe to think the previous TOTW was going to be a short lived return, I'm baaaaaaaaaaack
Yeah, I know I said last time I was going to be regular with the updates but this time it's definate. Why? 1) I've got a fair amount of new stuff to bust out, 2) I've got a credit card now which means puroresu album time, 3) I'm determined to make the updates happen. Notice I said puroresu album time? Well thanks to a certain amount of effort and a translation program, I'm now registered on Amazon Japan who have a quite large number of albums for sale. To this end, the NJPW 4cd anniversary set that got released earlier in the year is on it's way to me and should be with me sometime this week
Right, on with the show. The two themes up for grabs this week are ones I've had quite a few requests for on irc and the like but I never really thought I'd be able to get my hands on them due to either a distinct lack of information or the source album being out of print. Guess again
First up we pay a visit to Toryumon and Milano Collection AT's theme which is called "Europa". For a long while I never really thought I'd be able to get this one because it's taken from some obscure latin disco cd that only seems to have been released in Japan (as far as I can tell) and is no longer available. It seems someone did manage to get their hands on it though, because a routine hunting session on WinMX last weekend turned it up. I must admit, I really didn't like this at first but it's grown on me during the course of the week and I actually find it kinda groovy now.
Next we have the opening theme from Zero-ONE, which is "Hard-Boiled City" by a Japanese group called Arb. I haven't found out very much about the group, but a discography I've seen suggests that the group has been around since the late 1970's or so. If anyone has any information about the group, please let me know because I'd like to find more of their work. Make no bones about it folks, this one is a straight out rocker which deserves to be played at high volume.
Can we say "oops"? I must admit I never spotted that mistake at all. Yes please, it will probably save a fair bit of confusion for some people (least of all myself
