Well the fact that there's this 'worst finisher' thread that disses the Hadaka-Jime I'd like to start a threat to get a discussion going about LEGIT MOVES. NOT HOW THEY LOOK NOT THAT YOU HATE EM BECAUSE OF WHO PERFORMS EM, JUST BLEEDIN LEGIT MOVES, NKAY?
Like, for example Ron Simmons' Spinebuster. That thing was business an no mistake. But I'll not take away all the good ones...
lol i would've thought people are bringing on lots of high-impact moves here...
hey Emlyn, an armbar?. Granted, it hurts but its way too easy to get out of.
Don't diss the armbar. I'ma jiu-jitsu/judo/jeet kune do fighter, and the armbar, once applied can isolate a guy and get him to tap out in seconds. If the guy giving it has good leg strength, than there's no chance of an escape.
what type of armbar are we talking about here, el gringo? there is the waki-gatame, or armpit armbar a.k.a. fujiwara arm bar and then there is the juji-gatame, or cross armbar. both are great, but i always just flip out of the waki-gatame. the juji-gatame, if done properly, will cause a quick tap out. the move is easily defensible and reversible, but if the move is sinched in quick and the pressure is put on heavily the opponent will tap in a very frantic manner. oh, and as far as legit moves are concerned, i'll take the kata-hajime(tazmission) and the crippler crossface ANYDAY OF THE WEEK in a real fight.
"uh, you're a tool?" rvd to big show after show wanted to know why he didn't get the ic title shot
Wouldn't the crossface be hard to hold in a real fight? I'm thinking mainly about the arm held between the legs, seems like you could slip out of that pretty easily.
-Mounted Elbow. I seriously can't imagine something that hurts worse than having someone mounted on your back driving his elbow into your skull. I've seen a lot of fighters get frustrated and use this tactic, and a lot of others just plain like doing it.
-Yakuza Kick. Foot.... in the face. Pain.
-Dangerous Backdrop. There's really nothing to the backdrop except for hitting a back switch and getting around they guy. From there it's just a low waist lock into a lateral suplay.
The Steiner Screwdriver. The idea of being held upside down and dropping straight down on your head is something I find a little scary. Sure, any piledriver does that, but not from that height... (maybe Rhino's second rope piledriver, as well...).
Proud enough for you to call me arrogant
Greedy enough to be labeled a thief
Angry enough for me to go and hurt a man
Cruel enough for me to feel no grief...
I think the move that Chavo Guerrero Jr. has been doing recently where hes had the guy over his shoulder backwards and dropped to his knees is an awesome backbreaker. The old Stevie kick was pretty stiff too.
