Interesting topic, I personally love the round robin tournaments anyways and I think it usually produces a convincing winner. It also gives the lesser talents in the tournament some exposure and the chances for upset wins.

I like tournaments (single or double elimination, or a round robin) since giving the belt to someone or just naming 2 contenders seems unfair and not too convincing...

A tournament between 8 and 16 wrestlers not more (that's for Russo)
or less (that's for Mutoh), unless it's a tag tournament.

Yes, more than 8 can be a bit lame unless the division is really strong. No one wants someone in a tournament unless they have a shot of coming out with a win in the first round...
