    Jr. Heavyweights

this is a two part question.

    1. what is the weight limit for Jr. Heavyweights? 230? 220? is there one set limit or does it vary?

and 2. Who is the best Jr. out there right now? and why?

    1. I think that sorta changes to suit the needs of the promoter. It usually seems to be a bit over 200, though. Like 220-225.

    2. Well, that's subjective. I'm favouring Minoru Tanaka right now.

    1. The standard is 220, however it is not set in stone in All-Japan.

    2. Tossup between Tanaka and Yoshinobu Kanemaru.

I have yet to see any of the Noah Jr.s so I haven't seen Kanemaru. Is he a technical/shoot style guy like Tanaka or his he more of the typical high flying/Lucha style?

I'd say the limit is higher than 200ibs, around 220 in New Japan at least. Kanemaru uses a very hard-hitting, high imapct style, kind of like New Japan juniors circa 1997, before Lyger decided that less was more and brought in more of a limb-work/psychology based style. He uses brainbusters, moonsaults, springboard stuff.

I'd say either Minoru Tanaka (haven't seen any Heat footage yet though), Kanemaru or Tiger Mask IV, who just needs the right environment (New Japan) to shine in.

I'd have to say Tiger Mask 4 is my favorite right now, although Curry Man is pretty far up there as well.

I'm not sure what the limit is in New Japan, but Koji Kanemoto's next title match is against Bas Rutten (who must be around 220?)

    I like Kanemoto... THe attitude!

Kanemoto, TIger Mask 4, Black Tiger is also very good...
