does anyone know where i can get a detailed, quality mask made? and for that matter would anyone know anyone who can handle the design of it? i have a concept, but i draw like crap.
"uh, you're a tool?" rvd to big show after show wanted to know why he didn't get the ic title shot
Try highsots.com they do customs and are very well respected. Stay away from Adrian Street. My friend had a custom mask made from and Adrian stole the design and sells it to this day.
Highspots will make you REAL ring masks. They do good work for masks. You'll get you (likely) 65 bucks worth. A few masks a more(like a super awesome Liger mask for 120) and some less (like Vader's for 35) but 99% of them are 65. They also have just about every mask every worn by Mil Mascaras, if you're a fan of him.
Hmm...maybe you should check again. They have a Kendo Ka Shin mask that's out of stock(meaning they'll just make one for you.) Go to masks, pro masks out of stock and it should be on page 6. It takes 6-10 weeks for them to make masks, and since you asked about getting involved in the business it also takes 6-10 weeks to get any custom gear you'll ever need in the future. That's not just from Highspots, that's from anybody. The phrase "Art isn't created overnight" will drive you nuts for years. They also have 3 El Samurai masks, all on page 13 of the out of stock masks, however it's just listed under Samurai. I guess there's something extra that goes into these masks because they're 5 bucks more than a standard mask. If you're a big fan of either of those guys pro masks are well worth the money and the wait, and Highspots does good work.
Once again, thank u very much trade. U surely know alot about getting into the biz. I have never seen a Kashin bout, but I am a HUGE fan of El Samarai. He is just so underappreciated, it's a **** shame. He did win a mini junior heavy tag tournament recently teaming with Gedo though, but all they are gonna be 2gether in the future are jobbing boys to Kanemura/Kikuchi. But, thanx again trade.
You love me, you love me not, but you definately respect me!!!!
I ordered Jushin Ligers mask from highspots. I bought just a commercial mask because the postage fee is so much ( I live in Finland ) I have heard only good things about highspots.
I would like to know one thing. I looked at the pro masks and there were lots of Mil Mascaras' masks. I have never heard about a guy named Mil Mascaras. (Note: In Finland we can only see 1 hr edition of sd and raw, so this might be very stupid post ) I wondered if Mil Mascaras is a wrestler or does it mean something in some language? I mean, is it like a general name for masked wrestler or something?
Mil Mascaras is spanish and it means Thousand Masks. Mil Mascaras was/is a celebrated luchadore. Much like Rey Mysterio Jr., to give you something to compare. Only, Mil began his career in the 60's-70's, I don't remember exactly when. If you're interrested, there's way more info about him out there. This site had something on him, IIRC.
Alright bliz, a little history lesson for ya. Mil Mascaras is Mexico's most popular wrestler ever. He has wrestled almost everywhere. In Mexico, South America, North America, Australia, Europe, Japan, etc. He even had a brief stint in the WWWF (not a typo). He paved the way for lucha libre, cause back then, most lucha type wrestlers were ground-submission based wrestlers. Mil, along with his brothers Dos Caras and El Sicodelico, (and even other Mexican wrestlers like El Santo, et) started using ariel moves, along with the clasico lucha maneuvers. Till this day, Dos caras and Mil Mascaras still wrestle, even though they are about 60!!! But I think the most influencial high flier ever is Tiger Mask though (Satoru Sayama). To do a bit of translating, Mil Mascaras mean a thousand masks, Dos Caras meas 2 faces, El sicodelico means something like the crazy one, and El Santo means the Saint. Hope that helps.
You love me, you love me not, but you definately respect me!!!!
In Finland it's no wonder if you've never even heard of the good wrestlers. I mean, we only get SD! and Raw! Ok ok, sure they have good wrestlers, but their policies sure make it look like they don't.
Hmm... Those masks in highspots are pretty darn fine looking. If I had money I'd be sure to get one
