Good evening everyone and welcome to the long overdue return of TOTW. I am your host The Phoenix (formerly known as Deadpool) and with a small amount of luck, I'll be here every week with new stuff for you to listen to. I must apologise for the huge gap since the last update, but without going into too much detail, there was an awful lot of personal stuff going on for me last year and it pretty much left me unmotivated to do anything as far as TOTW was concerned.
Moving on from that, let's get down to business shall we? The two themes up for grabs this week are Masahiro Chono's current theme (Hard Crush) and a Taiyo Kea theme from a while back (Hold Out Sun).
Taiyo Kea - Hold Out Sun
Before I got hold of this theme, I originally thought that it was going to be some sort of remix of Mutoh's "Hold Out" theme given that at the time the album it came from (Grand Sword) was released, Kea was associated with BATT. In some ways, this isn't too far from the truth in that "Hold Out Sun" appears (to my mind anyway) to be a cross between Kea's "Sun" theme (think his current theme and you're on the right lines) and a "Hold Out"-style guitar piece. This works an awful lot better than it might sound, as the two styles don't clash anywhere near as much as you think they might and actually mesh quite well. http://puroresu.webhop.net/totw2101a.zip
Masahiro Chono - Hard Crush
Oh. My. ***. You basically need to download this Right Now. I'm not sure exactly when Chono started using this theme, other than it was a major show a couple of months back (The Spiral?). Essentially, it's just a reworked version of "Crash" with a dance intro added on so you could say there isn't an awful lot to shout about. This is where you'd be wrong, as it's reworked enough to breath a whole new lease of life into it and almost turn it into a different theme at times. Crank this one up loud. http://puroresu.webhop.net/totw2101b.zip
That's your lot for this week, if you have any queries or suggestions for future TOTW's, feel free to mail me at daplatt@hotmail.com and I'll do my best to help out. No requests for me to e-mail themes though please, last time I tried that (some time ago admittedly) the effort just wasn't worth the overall hassle.
Until next week, this is The Phoenix signing off.

Luds: Thank you very much sir I must admit it's good to be back and I've had a fair amount of positive feedback from people's e-mails as well so I'm glad I made the decision to bring it back. I must admit, part of the reason I did so was because I realised that this month is the first anniversary of TOTW seeing as it originally started in January last year on the PP forums (and yes, it was somewhat irregular even then too). I've got the next few weeks loosely planned out and with any luck I'll have an additional surprise for next week as well, but that is all I am willing to say on that matter
TRZZXQ: One other example were such a feat was acomplished is the current version of Kobashi's "Grand Sword". The first NOAH version wasn't all that different from the AJPW version, but the 2nd version (ie the one he started using on 2.17) rocks 10 bells and a gong basically.
