This is truely horrible news. Curt has always been one of my favorites. He was one of the first truely athletic wrestlers in the United States. He had some great matches in his day. Although his star had fallen he was and is still loved by many. My prayers go to his family and friends.

BRANDON - Professional wrestler Curt "Mr. Perfect" Hennig was found dead in a hotel room Monday.
Officials said foul play wasn't suspected.
Hennig, 44, of Champlin, Minn., was scheduled to appear at the Florida State Fair in Tampa on Monday night.
A housekeeper at the Homestead Suites Hotel in Brandon found Hennig in a room about 1:30 p.m, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Hennig was not breathing and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been turned over to the Medical Examiner's Office, and the sheriff's office is conducting a death investigation.
Hennig, the son of Minneapolis wrestler Larry "The Axe" Hennig, has wrestled professionally for more than 30 years, according to an online biography.
wow, this is absolutely devistating, I was just watching him win his IC Title back from the late Kerry Von Erich last night too. I can't believe this. My prayers go out to the Henning family.
Just a year ago when I got the Royal Rumble on PPV me and all my friends were pulling for him to win, I loved seeing him back on TV, I just cant believe he's gone.
Curt, you will forever be in our hearts and our minds

Curt was one of the first heel that I loved during my childhood... He and the late "Ravishing" Rick Rude were 2 of my top 3 wrestlers (with the Hit Man).
I will always remember his matches with Hart, his funny vignettes (including the one where he throws a football 40 yards and catches it himself in the end zone ), throwing of the towel and gum, his title reigns in WWF and WCW, his nWo days, crushing Flair's head with the cage door at Fall Brawl, his run with the West Texas Rednecks, and his comeback with the WWE, getting eliminated 27th in the Royal Rumble...
I was shocked when I read the news. During Mr. Perfect's run in the WWF, he was the first heel that I enjoyed watching. I remember back when he was challenging Hogan for the title, he was the first wrestler who wasn't overpowering Hogan, but out-wrestling him. That made him exciting to watch. And his matches against Bret Hart were some of the best matches the WWF had.
As with all of you, my prayers go out to his family and friends...
Rest in Peace, Curt Hennig
Proud enough for you to call me arrogant
Greedy enough to be labeled a thief
Angry enough for me to go and hurt a man
Cruel enough for me to feel no grief...
I always thought Curt was underated. His fued with Hart was classic, as was his stuff with Flair, leading to the face turn and beating Flair in the Loser Leaves Town Match. Just Great Stuff. Even his last Royale Rumble appearence was pretty memorable, with him reaching the final four. I'll never forget him being upside down in the corner and still managing to do the gum swat thing. We'll miss you Curt.
Unbelievable. Another of my wrestling idols is gone. Curt Hennig had charisma like no other, and I loved every single time I saw him. I'll miss him very much.
