Onita... in the news? (July 26/03)

I was watching the news on Friday (the 25th) and there was a story about a scuffle happening during a government meeting in Japan. There was an argument about sending soldiers to Iraq (I think), and a shoving match broke out. There was a woman in a suit trying to climb over desks to get at someone... and in the middle of it all, I swear I saw Atsushi Onita trying to calm everyone down!

Was I seeing things? Was it Onita? Has anyone else seen this?



P.S. - sorry if I posted this in the wrong place... it's puro-related, but doesn't fall under other specific catagories (I think), and Everything Else is non-puro-related, so I figured it's the best place.

Indeed it was him... for those who don't know, Onita is a Councillor (i. e. Senator) of Japan. Ironically, he was trying to hold people back instead of encouraging the fight...

It's comforting to know that countless hours in front of my computer screen hasn't damaged my eyes to the point where I can no longer pick famous faces out of a crowd...



P.S. - it would have been funny to see Great Sasuke on the other side...
