    Junior matches

    I need some help, i'm compiling a tape of the best junior matches ever...any suggestions of matches to go on the tape? b Anything would be appreciated.

    Well here's some that I think pretty good matches.

    Wild Pegasus vs. Great Sasuke- J-Cup Finals '94

    Naoki Sano vs Jushin Liger- January 30, 1990

    Tiger Mask IV vs. Jushin Liger- First Round J-Cup 2000

    Ohtani/Takaiwa/Kanemoto/Ka Shin vs. CIMA/Fuji/Tanaka/Liger- Im not sure the exact date but it was May of 2000 in a dome...possibly the Fukuoka Dome.

    Hamada/Yakashiji/Sasuke vs. Teioh/Togo/Taka from Barely Legal 97 PPV

    Ohtani and Takaiwa vs. Kanemoto and Tanaka- IWGP Jr. Tag Titles change hands in a great fast-paced match.

    Tanaka vs. Murahama 4/20/01- great match...I hope NJPW uses this Osaka Pro wrestler more often to elevate the Jr. Division.

    Hayabusa vs. Jushin Liger- First Round of '94 J-Cup

    Curry Man, Super Boy and CIMA vs. Shiryu II, Minoru Fujita and Jodie Fleisch December of 99

    Minoru Fujita vs. Minoru Tanaka- Battle of the Minoru's, Best of the Super Juniors 2000

    Any match from the J*Crown tournament

    Toryumon's Gold Net Cage Match September of 2001 featuring Darkness Dragon vs. Dragon Kid vs. CIMA vs. Masaaki Mochuzuki vs. Magnum TOKYO

    Masahito Kakihara vs Yoshinari Ogawa, not sure the date, but its on the New Year Giant series tape. Great, great match. Great finish too

    lol most people do! it is Masato Yakushiji.

    I recommend:

    -Any Liger vs. El Samurai match from the mid-late 90's
    -Ultimo Dragon vs Shinjro Ohtani from '96
    -90% of J-Cup '94
    -any Liger vs Benoit from the early 90's

    ..........hmmm now that I think about it...I'm not much help at all....

    If you can get it the Shinjiro Ohtani vs. Jushin Liger from 1997 that would be awesome to go on the tape and of course a few Dynamite Kid vs. Tiger Mask matches wouldn't go a miss!

    I believe that Marufuji vs. Takaiwa from the first or second Zero One PPV was a very good Jr. Heavyweight Match. That and Ultimo Doragon's matches on the Super J 95 tape against both Lyger and Ohtani

    Since BurningSpirit mentioned it, the 6-Man Michinoku Pro Match from ECW's Barely Legal wouldn't be a bad choice. You could say the match is pretty standard for a 6-Man JuniorHeavyweight match, but still, the ECW crowd really got into it. Eddy Guerrero & Dean Malenko's last ECW match, best of 3 falls, is excellent as well(though its not in Japan, sorry). Tough to remember anymore. Everyone's made some great picks, but I have to second Kobashi's pick of Tigermask & Dynamite Kid. HOW COULDN'T YOU HAVE THEM ON YOUR "BEST OF"?!

    I would personally recomend the Dynamite Kid-Tiger Mask matches, because they were fantastic and truly innovative. Dynamite paid the price in the long run, but he carved out some classic matches.

    Also, someone above recommended the Liger-Sano feud from 89/90. Four matches in all, that you really have to watch in turn to see how great a feud this was. The 1990 match is a classic and a definite ***** bout, but the others weren't bad either and set the standard for the fued.

    Other random matches I would recommend - these are mostly from a New Japan point of view:

    El Samurai Vs Sasuke (J Cup 1st Stage)
    Liger Vs Sasuke (J Cup 1st stage)
    Sasuke Vs Benoit (J Cup 1st stage)
    Liger Vs Otani (Feb 97)
    El Samurai Vs Otani (BoSJ 97)
    El Samurai Vs Koji Kanemoto (BOSJ 97)
    Otani Vs Ultimo Dragon (J Crown 96)
    Liger Vs Samurai (92 - cant remember the date, its on the Liger best bout 10 comp and it absolutely rules)
    Minoru Tanaka Vs Naoki Sano (BattlArts Jan 2000 - awesome)
    Ultimo Dragon Vs Liger (J Cup 2nd stage)

    just a selection of the many great matches out there

    This tapes gonna be pretty big! I could fill up 10 tapes with the best junior matches on but don't forget the Owen Hart Vs. Lyger match which I think is from 1990!

    The juniors/cruisers/lightheavyweights no matter what they are called are hardworking and deserve alot of respect. I'm glad that in the world of puroresu these guys are still appreciated. In the states it seems the "little guys" cant get a steady push. The highflying stuff isnt my favorite, I'm more a fan of good mat wrestling BUT I do enjoy it none the less
