On WING they showed up for special shows. Their base was Universal Lucha Libre. I believe it was in WING or its successor IWA Japan that they adopted the Do names.

And how far they have come even. I've applauded Tanaka, Tomoaki Honma and Jado, Gedo and others for trying to break the mystique that they are only hardcore and death match wrestlers, even though they came from Hardcore promotions.

Jado & Gedo never were 'just hardcore'. They always struck me as great wrestlers. Sad that so many people just dismissed them cause they occasionally used a chair.

It's not very often that Japanese major leagues raid the indies... Especially hardcore indies... Jado and Gedo had a past as Luchadores in Universal, so they had some idea of how to adapt to New Japan's lucha/shoot combined junior heavyweight division by bringing in some garbage elements.

I've always thought Jado and Gedo were good, but they've actually IMPROVED as years have gone by, especially Gedo. I remember watching Gedo in the Super J Cup tournaments of the mid-90s, and he did well hanging with Liger, Benoit, Guerrero, and the rest, but wasn't what I'd consider spectacular. Nowadays, I've seen some matches involving him on the net, and I can't believe how much both his skill and match-pacing has improved! He's probably one of my favourite puro stars these days.

Gedo & Jado have inproved so great over the years. And there one of the reasons I still buy NJ tapes. I remember reading a while back that they wrestled for Fuyuki promotion ( I forgot the Promotions name), and Many other small groups, Besides W*ing & IWA-J, before they went to FMW. I still remember watching Gedo in his little WCW run and how fun that was.

Gedo did wrestle in WCW, I think you're going off the tangent because you did not know this.

See Jado and Gedo's story (up to 1999) here:

Unfortunately Masa doesn't seem to mention Gedo's WCW stint, but I'm sure it happened between 1996-97 after quitting WAR.

he mentions gedo working the 97 halloween havoc against chris jericho, which makes sense, since they had great matches in WAR. i really couldn't recall that and i thought i knew a bit about Jado & Gedo. Masa also mentions another group called 'Fuyuki-gun' which could just as well be what Mark4DDT meant when I thought it was about WEW.
