    legendary matchups

Let's say that Vinnie Mac gets a clue, listens to the fans, and decides to put together a dream "WWE v. Puroresu" PPV. If this were ever to happen, what dream matches would you like to see? Because WWE is the dominant player in the US for now (though NWA-TNA is getting good), and one can make a case for NJPW, AJPW, NOAH, and 0-1 being the "big ones" of Japan, let's stick to wrestlers from these feds.

    For examples:

Kurt Angle v. Kenta Kobashi - two people who don't know the word "quit" going all out beating each other senseless.

Chris Benoit v. Yuji Nagata - think about the technical display that would be on here. Drooling just thinking about it!

Hulk Hogan v. Keiji Muto - two balding, over the hill guys with fairly lame finishers (though Shining Wizard is the better of the two) who were legends of their times settling it.

Triple H v. Shinya Hashimoto - this one's probably going to be pretty violent.

Rey Misterio v. Ultimo Dragon v. Jushin Liger v. Naomichi Marafuji - okay, I know Ultimo and Liger have squared off before, but throw in Rey Rey and Marafuji and you'll get dizzy following them!

Tazz (if unretired) v. Masato Tanaka - just ring the bell and get outta the way!

Brock Lesnar v. Yoshihiro Takayama - Two big, scary looking guys who's hitting their peaks about now.

Undertaker v. Kawada - two legends who were always on the cusp of being the main man, but were sidetracked for one reason or another.

Hmm... can't think of any WWE person for Mitsuharu Misawa - Eddie Guerrero, maybe?

    Can ya'll think of others?

    add one more

Stone Cold Steve Austin v. Masahiro Chono - two characters who has the streak of "defying authority"...

Tokyo Dome v. Madison Square Garden - I doubt either of these places would be able to contain this dream PPV...

Well how about John Cena vs. Tatsuhito Takaiwa, DVD vs. the FU.

For Misawa how about The Rock, the two dominant annoying wrestlers.

How about Kensuke Sasaki vs. Triple H, the two ego-maniacs with strong protectors who were good, but not that good.

I like this, I love what everone has posted.

    How about this:

    John Cena Vs. Satoshi Kojima
    Edge Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
    Bill Goldberg Vs. Yoshihiro Takayama
    Rey Misterio Vs. Heat
    Tajiri Vs. Naomichi Marifuji
Hurricane Vs. Hayabusa (this would rock!!)
Bradshaw Vs. Kenta Kobashi (Clothesline from Hell Vs. Burning Lariat!)
    The Rock Vs. Toshiaki Kawada
    Evolution Vs. Makai Club
    Chris Benoit Vs. Katsuyori Shibata

    Double Main Event:
    Kurt Angle Vs. Mitsuharu Misawa
    Brock Lesnar Vs. Hiriyoshi Tenzan

    Oh and an added exhibition:

Mr. McMahon Vs. Atsushi Onita (no rope, explosive barbed wire, double hell deathmatch)

    Makai Club:
    Tadao Yasuda
    Mitsuya Nagai
Junji "People Know That I am Super Strong Makai" Hirata
    Ryota Chikuzen

I'd also love to see Jushin Liger Vs. Spanky or Paul London.

And since AJPW has a Joshi division:

    Ayako Hamada Vs. Lita
Nane Takase (hope I spelled it right) Vs. Trish Stratus

My 2 cents is that if there were a legendary matchup card, no current WWE wrestler except maybe Chris Benoit & Eddie Guerrero would deserve to be on it anyways.

    it's the styles...

i think eddie, benoit, and angle all deserve to be in these dream matchups. but because you need more than 3 matches to have a card, we need to fill it in with others!
perhaps john cena v. tanahashi? (hungry young lions ready to break out)
dudleys v. tenkoji - this would've been quite interesting
even shawn michaels v. misawa - this would've been good.
somebody above wrote rock v. misawa - overseller v. no-seller! (why is it that when rock gets stunned, he flops around like a fish? or that all misawa does is blinks a couple times when he gets hit?)

lesnar v. tenzan - hmmm.... VERY intriguing...
goldberg v. yasuda - two big, plodding, bald, look-a-like, wannabe wrestlers who probably would set a record for how many fans snoozing during a match!

Angle? maybe, he's not bad, but not as good as the other 2.

Some of their cruiserweights could do a decent job... It's stupid how WWE signed all these cruiserweight and aren't using them properly...

Hey, I really enjoyed the Hogan-Muta match from way back. Its all about intensity baby...

I would absolutly love that Undertaker vs Kawada match.

For Misawa, I can only think of Bret Hart.

Who would be some good puro opponents for Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Lance Storm, and maybe Rob Van Dam?
