    Question best variations of moves

    just to get your opinions...

with everyone out there doing essentially variations of the same moves, i just want to get your opinion on which variation or who's version of a move is the best, in terms of impact, or perhaps how it's used. not necessarily your favorite move, but one that stands out. for example, stone cold stunner when it's least expected and gets the win, not when austin does it five times in a row... to kae it easier, here are some categories...

    powerbomb
    piledriver
    striking
    suplex
    aerial
    ace crusher
    running
    submission

    my guesses:
e.g. powerbomb - hmm... which is the best variation - either UT's last ride or kobashi's orange crush, becuase they both are powerful, and looks cool (and painful)

piledriver - emerald fusion, since it's simple to pull off, yet devastating impact. not to mention a cool name to boot.

striking - ultimo dragon's 5 kick combo (you know, front, back, front, back, and spin kick to top it off.)

suplex - benoit's release german suplex... first time i saw him do it against angle i nearly fell to the floor because it was most unexpected and because you felt like he went to the highest level of suplexes he can go with germans.

ace crusher - back in WCW when DDP's on his run, he seemed to pull off a new variation of the cutter with every win - that was really sweet... anyone know how many variations he pulled off?

running - good ol' fashioned spinning spinebuster by arn anderson - always unexpected and gets the job done... no muss, no fuss.

submission - kudos to the shining triangle by nakamura

any other categories to add? also, any place where i can find names/descriptions of moves besides the BBOWM, or SSS?

Hmmm I'm gonna have to think deeply about this...

Powerbomb: I always liked the powerbomb to the outside, ala Mike Awesome, but I think the Liger bomb is effective as well.

Piledriver: Steiner Screwdriver. I saw him do it to Owen Hart on some older comp tape and it looked SO BRUTAL!

Striking: Kawada's kicks, The Vader hammer, I'm probably forgetting something really cool....

Suplex: The Bloody's top rope dragon suplex instantly springs to mind. Many Taz(z) suplexes too....

Aerial: Any of those really cool flippy ones that Amazing Red or Jimmy Yang or whoever do.

Ace Crusher: Top Rope Hamada cutter!

Running At Opponent: Stan Hansen's lariat, Michiko Ohmukai's version of the Shining Wizard

Submission: ...anything applied by Minoru Tanaka

try www.quebrada.net for some pictures of finishing moves...hasn't been updated in a while, though

powerbomb: Takawa's triple powerbomb into a death vally driver is something to really mark over.
piledriver: I think the jumping piledriver is a real nasty looking move, and theirs no long set up or anything, just pick em up, jump and land.
    striking: Superkick
suplex: The capture suplex, the best one I've seen was this match clip of Tony Jones vs Mohammad Yone in BattleArts where Yone was getting some kicks off but my his third kick Jones cought him and hit him with a beutiful suplex.
ace crusher: I think this move is best used as a reversal from an atomic drop or any other move.
    running: LARIATOOOOOOOO!!!!!

    powerbomb: Ligerbomb
piledriver: Good old-fashioned Lawler piledriver - the original and still the best
striking: Thumb to the eye (Ric Flair~)
suplex: I always liked Bret Hart's snap suplexes
    running: Burning Lariat
submission: Cattle Mutilation, Sharpshooter, Hangman's Clutch

Powerbomb - My personal favorite is the Blue Thunder Bomb. At least, I think that's the proper name for it. Val Venis is doing it alot in WWE right now, as well as Christopher Daniels in the indies. The name sounds like it's a move Jushin Liger does, but I can't recall actually seeing him do it in any of the matches of his that I have.

Piledriver - Tombstone piledriver. More for mark-out effect than anything else. Pedigree is awesome too, but does it count as a piledriver?

Striking - Benoit's chops or Shawn Michaels' Superkick.

Suplex - Jun Akiyama's exploder suplex.

Aerial - Hayabusa's Phoenix Splash or Shawn Michaels' elbow drop.

Ace Crusher - It's cool how this is a category. Good ol' Stone Cold Stunner gets the points here, but I'm starting to dig the R.K.O. I like the way how Orton nails it with one hand.

Running - You have yours as the opponent running, everyone else is doing one where the offensive wrestler is doing the running, so I'm going to do both categories. Anyhow, for opponent running at you, spinebuster takes the cake for me. Either Arn Anderson's, Triple H's, or Batista's (it's like the only move he does well).

Running At Your Opponent - LARIATOOOOO!!!!! (I know, someone else already did that, but it's fun.) I'd also like to give a 'Runner-Up' award to Triple H's jumping knee which to me is just a sweet move.

Submission: Sharpshooter (though in Japan they seem to call it the Scorpion Death Lock more often than Sharpshooter, but to me, Sharpshooter is a better name for the move) and Crippler Crossface.

Powerbomb: Probably something by Asuka, maybe the Towerhacker Bomb

Piledriver: Mariko Yoshida's Ganso Air Raid Crush. Anybody else trying it looks second rate.

Striking: TM's kick combos (Kwik Kik Lee indeed ). Meiko Satomura's kicks for the technique, Kawada and KANSAI's for the violence.

Suplex: I like complex variations like Akiyama's Exploder 98, KAORU's TAKAMI Special or Manami Toyota's Japanese Ocean Drop.
The Bloody's Dragon superplex for danger factor alone.
Chains are pretty sweet too (Delfin's Specials or Azumi Hyuga's Spider Germans).
But the unmissable Japanese Ocean Cyclone is in a class of its own

    Aerial: Hayabusa's Stardust Press, Dragon Kid's 450 Dragonrana, Jodie Fleisch's 720 DDT

Ace Crusher: Delfin's Osaka Street Cutter, Ayako Hamada's Hamachan Cutter

Running: Satomura's Corner Elbow Smash, Ohmukai's Shining Wizard, any Manami Toyota counter

Sub: Flying armbar, Yoshida's Spider Hold and pretty much any sub she does

Powerbomb: Liger Bomb - The quick snap looks so impressive and the impact sounds painful on a clean, fast and crisp Liger Bomb, a thing of beauty.
Piledriver: Tiger Driver 91' - It looks as if it should kill someone when done right, and there are some cool off shoots (Michinoku Driver I, Jay Driller). The Burning Hammer would be a very close second...
Striking: Rolling Koppou Kick - It's a charming move that grew on me. It always looked kinda funny (to me, anyway) but would really hurt.
suplex: Half Nelson Suplex - It's SO BLOODY HARD to pick just one!!! The way Kobashi does them looks brutal...if it hadn't been mentioned already I would have said the Exploder but I wanted to be different...
Aerial: Stardust Press - IMO, the most impressive aerial move created (even more then the Inferred).
Ace Crusher: Mero Cutter - Fireman's Carry into an Ace Crusher.
Running: Shining Wizard - Somthing that's so simple, yet so cool and trend setting.
Submission: Cattle Mutilation - American Dragon's Bridging Butterfly Hold. Makes a great combo finish after a Dragon Suplex.

Powerbomb: Gotta go with the Liger Bomb.

Piledriver: Can't beat a simple Orndorff piledriver.

    Striking: A Bret Hart uppercut.

    Suplex: Benoit's snap suplex.

Aerial: The Infra Red, and Terry Funk's "moonsault" I still cringe when I see Funk do one.

    Ace Crusher: The Diamondcutter.

    Running: LARIATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    Submission: The Octopus Hold.

Aerial: Eddie's Frog Splash, or the 450 Splash

    Ace Crusher: Diamond Cutter

Running: Shinig Wizard, or Yakuza Kick

Running Counter: Double A's Spinebuster. None better!

Submission: Any of the 3 million ways Low Ki performs the Dragon Clutch, other than that the STF or the Scorpion Deathlock
