it seems like in japan, the debut of moves are a huge deal... i remember the hoopla surrounding tenzan's anaconda vice in the G1 '03. with that said, i wanted to know: a. why all the hoopla about debuting moves (not necessarily inventing since moves evolve all the time); and b. against whom did these moves debut against and what match?
1. misawa's tiger driver '91
2. kobashi's burning hammer, orange crush
3. tenzan's anaconda vice
4. muto's shining wizard
5. nagata's nagata locks 1, 2, and 3
3- Tenzan used the Anaconda Vice to finish Masahiro Chono in the 4th day of the 2003 G1, on 08/14/03, after losing to Akiyama on day 1, Tanahashi on day 2, and winning against Nishimura on day 3. This was a decisive win for Tenzan bringing him back to .500 at 2-2. He defeated Manabu Makanishi on day 5, defeated then IWGP champ Yoshihiro Takayama in the semis and won the G1 over Akiyama in the final.
4- NOT 100% sure about this one, but I think it's during 02/2001 that he used the move for the first time, although it wasn't called SHining Wizard, he pinned a few wrestlers with it.
5- Nagata Lock 3 was against Osamu Nishimura in an IWGP title match on 02/02/03.
I have lot all my respect for my namesake...there I would like to be known as WilliamsFan from now on...I feel disgraced with the name of Edge on me...
hehe thats really funny, but its also cool, thanx. I should correct myself, Hayabusa said that he saw Scorpio doing the Firebird splash, and not that he invented it.
I can smell it, I can hear it... Its triple H!!! he just won the world title on a fluke! (again)
