    IWTV and Other Services

I am looking into getting the IWTV and Noah internet wrestling service at Nifty.com. I don't want to promote another website but i am trying to get some answers to some questions i had. So if anyone knows about these services any help is appreciated. I am sure that i am not the only person with these questions and though this thread has been VERY helpful, if there was a finished FAQ or step by step process to order, cancel, download, etc. it would be great and i would be endebted to all who helped.

    1. Can you download the files to save? If i am going to pay for these things i want to be able to download them and keep them on some sweet self made dvds. Sidenote: I have already made a smoking great dvd with this years 1/4/04 show and some assorted noah stuff

    2. How many matches are really online? I have read on here that you can access old shows and such but is there a listing of every show that has been online or do they just update it with new stuff and once they have updated you cant get the old stuff?

    3. What is the quality of these matches? I am sure that some differe as they are older matches but overall are they tv quality or what? Also the size that movies play in matter. I have a big monitor and some things that i watch just look horrible on it because it looks so stretched.

    4. How easy is it to order and then cancel and then reorder? I am at school and when i get home, i won't have a good connection to get service with during the summer. As to not have to pay for a service i wont use, i would cancel only to reorder when i get back to school. I know this is a weird question but there has been so many account problems by just ordering and cancelling that i was wondering if anyone had done this and what their experience was with it. I have seen so many people have problems with just cancelling once (cant do it or they get charged anyway) so this is my biggest concern.

    4. How often is it updated? Is every new show up on there or is it just certain ones? Is it updated regularly (every week or 2) or is it just whenever? i ask this because if i pay for a month of service and only get an update once.... that wouldnt be cool. And, I want to be able to stay up to date. So if say NJ has a show on dec. 15, will it be up before January 4th show actually happens?

    5. How many problems does nifty have with its server? I am sure that there are problems sometimes as expected but do many people have problems with it all the time?

    6. Last and final question... Is it worth it? I am a thrifty guy and hate to make an impulse buy (this would be one of them) because of the assorted results. Sometimes you are very happy and sometimes you are most let down. I am sure that i would get tons of use out of this but is it all worth it? I don't want to get spoiled on this stuff but i also can't stand not watching like i should. Guess this question really is just everyone's opinion of the service. Though it would be really great to just get the matches i want to make sure the service is good overall.

If these answers come soon from anyone and they would like to work with me on making a REAL FAQ for this or a step by step thing to help everyone out, i am interested. Thanks a lot.

5 (The real 5): Certain shows are IWTV tapings, and can only be viewed there. These are usually uploaded a few hours after the show finishes. Big matches are usually uploaded as well

3.) The picture quality is really good, and if you're having trouble with the quality because of your monitor, try using RealPlayer t o view them, as you can have larger screen size at a much greater resolution

6 (or 7).) It is worth it. For the exclusive shows, as well as really big matches a subscription, IMO, is worthy of some money

Over at Death Valley Driver someone posted a video of the recent Gladiator/Kobashi GHC Title match. Download that, and if you're satisfied with the video quality you should probably go ahead and get it. If you record everything they offer onto DVDs and sell it I'm sure you could make a killing too. I feel it's worth the money, and if it wasn't for Ghettonet (my internet is extremely flaky at best) I'd be a customer.

thanks trade, i am not thinking about selling it. Just archiving it for my own use. I am sure though that you are right, someone would make a killing off of the service but if that happens too much the service would probably be scaled down or taken away. But thanks.

You wouldn't have to be a robber baron about it, but if you're going to archive the footage onto DVD I'm sure someone would be more than willing to pay for copies, which would help cut your costs for the service. Since using it isn't feasible for me I'd certainly be willing to pay the standard $3-5 per DVD for a show I wanted, and then we'd both be better off. If you didn't want to do that it would obviously be up to you. American "bootleggers" and file sharers are considered to be free advertising by everyone in Japan outside of DSE, so the idea of IWTV being shut down because of American feeling the love is next to zero. Unless of course you want to see a Zero-One all cage show. Then DSE will send Monster C after you.
