    E-Feds

I've been looking around at different wrestling e-feds and it looks very interesting. My question is...how do you go about joining one? How exactly do you roleplay?

I've been e-fedding for about 3 years now, it's very addictive, I'd certainly advise you to try it. Anyway, basically, roleplaying is like cutting a promo for your wrestler. It's usually written almost in play script format, most people usually set the scene in brackets at the beginning, before writing the interview script style. An example might be:
    ------------------------------------------------
(The scene fades in to show gaijinTIGER sat in his Tiger Gym, Los Angeles, dressed in a puroresu.com t-shirt and jeans. As he takes a moments rest, DangerousBD walks over...)

DangerousBD: How exactly do you roleplay?

gaijinTIGER: I've been e-fedding for about 3 years...

    etc, etc.
    ------------------------------------------------

Most places either roleplay via a message board, or via e-mail. On a board, you simply post your roleplay when you've done it, and other people read and respond. I'm not too sure how it works via a mailing list (I've only ever used a board) but I think all rolaplays (RPs for short) get mailed in to the fed owner, who then send sthem out to everyone else.

Matches are normally judged on roleplay quality, i.e. whoever's roleplays strike the best balance between realism, entertainment and relevance to the match, wins. It's fairly simple really, you'd get the hang of it quickly.

As for joining an e-fed, may I suggest http://bswwrestling.tripod.com/ to you? I joined there in late 99 and haven't left since, it's by far the best fed I've found on the internet. The angles are great, and the matchwriting is usually fantastic too (check out some of the cards from 2001 for a good example!). To join, simply go to the Office section, and put in an application. You'd definately get in, the owner never turns people away.

I'd definately give e-fedding a go if I was you though, it's an enjoyable side distraction for when you're a bit bored. Hope that was of some help! Any further questions, feel free to quiz away

Yeah, Im quite new to e-feds, and have been doing it for a couple of months, and it is a good laugh. You roleplay via a promo or an interview. If you get into it, then the only limits are the boundries of your mind. I wasn't 100% sure Id like it before I began, but I can say, it is good fun.

Good ones which take fictional characters?

http://bswwrestling.tripod.com/ - as I stated before, a great place, probably the best I've ever seen, its been running for about 3 years (although they did take a break in mid 2000 for around 6 months). Results are handwritten and are usually excellent, incorporating many different styles (although the cards this last two weeks or so were very short due to time restraints).

http://hybridwrestling.cjb.net/ - run by forum member BENJII, and both myself and Tom (LizardKing) also take part. Very new, but pretty good fun. The results are written on TNM rather than by hand.

    Hope that's of some help!

Most feds have an owner/booker and a match writer, the owner books the matches and the winner based on the quality of roleplays and the match writer writes the actual text for the matches

E-Feds are extremely fun, I use to compete in several E-Feds quite some time ago. The only problem I've had with E-Feds are the highly demanding ones after awhile the fun stops and becomes more like a job. Ever since i've gotten into MMA though E-feds havn't been my interest although it would be really cool if there was a shootstyle/japanese pro-wres type of fed, I would for sure join that.

Thanks for the plugs.... Yeah I run EVOLUTION: Hybrid Wrestling (affectionatly we call it EVO in the fed... and others who follow it), and I **** well enjoy it. I just wanna thank all involved publically. If it wasn't for people roleplaying, the place would be closed....

Hey Benji, your site looked great so I entered in my longtime character Akira Kyoto. All those titles and accolades are legit, I have been in the games since 87 when they were mailed out bulletins you recieved for a dollar a match.

Are there any other international e feds you guys know of? I'm opening a puroresu fed on a wrestling board right now, if any one's interested email me at TheEster26@aol.com
