My second favorite heavyweight match is any one that features Goldberg......every other one in history is tied for first! Seriously,Goldberg is tough........TOUGH TO WATCH! Ok, I'm sorry, I let my personal feelings cloud my judgement lol. But you got to admit its good to know he isnt still wrestling and possibly ending another career......
I recently got the Misawa-Kobashi tape, with some of their great matches on. After having mainly been a junior match kind of guy, I have to admit that for heavyweight matches, IMO it doesn't get much better than some of their matches. The 43 minute epic, (97) was just astonishing. So naturally, they are my picks for heavyweight matches.
I think this is classified as a heavyweight match because Ikeda vs. Ishikawa from The young generation battle tournament 1999 in BattlArts is very awesome.
Also do not forget all the Kobashi/Misawa and Kawada/Misawa matches, and the Tsurutra/Misawa matches are also brilliant. Tenryu vs. Tsurutra from 1989 is an amazing match and starts off the psychology that built on to Kawada vs. Misawa from 6/4/94.
For more recent ones try Nagata & Iizuka vs. Kawada & Fuchi and Kobashi vs. Akiyama. IMO they are my two MOTY's for 2000.

Check out Fall Brawl 99 or 2000 (I forget which one). Goldberg vs. Scott Steiner is pretty awesome until the overbooked Russo finish. Steiner struggles to press Goldberg, but Goldberg lifts Steiner without so much as a grunt and presses him several times over his head. Very impressive strength.
Also, the Goldberg title win over Hogan from Nitro was surprisingly good (packed Atlanta Dome), and some of the Goldberg and Bret matches were good.
Unfortunatly one of those matches with Hart lead to the hanging up of his tights. I think there was alot of steam left in the hitman, and I realize that accidents happen. But at the same time it seems that Goldberg was a little undertrained and a little under qualified to be in a wrestling ring for more than 30 seconds. Thats managments fault as much as anyones. I caught Steiner vs. Goldberg at a house show once. Steiner absolutly carried that match on his shoulders. Of course he went out looking at the lights and popped the crowd for Goldberg, but I really don't like the guy. He is as unprofessional as they come. (HHH knows this as well as anybody lol) I wouldnt quite rank him on the Buff or HBK scale as far as unprofessionalism but he is definatly lacking some class.
Or what about when he faced Glacier......Glacier does his martial arts routine...missed and bang.....Goldberg explodes with the Spear......and you can guess the rest!
