Well despite people thinking he is working in Japan, he is in fact doing shows and has been doing shows for the last couple of weeks in Mexico's CMLL wrestling organization.

Just wanted to let you guys know you can catch there events on Saturdays on Galavision and you might just see Ultimo on the show.

yes that is true but if you understood spanish you would know that cmll/AAA on saturdays are pre-recorded and are at least 3 to 4 months old. Next time when you watch it and at the beginning take a look at some of the dates for the upcoming shows and also look at the top of the screen to the left and you will see it say programa pre-grabado which means program pre-recorded in english. So he was doing some shows for them about 3 or 4 months ago.

Nice tape-delay.....3-4 months. Man, some of these guys may not have their mask or hair by the time the matches air. I guess they don't use the TV shows as a vehicle to sell more tickets to the house shows.

Actually, I read somewhere the Ultimo has dropped the Dragon gimmick due in part to his being released by WWE, so he's re-invented himself as "The Tiger," wearing the outfit Sayama used to wear with Sayama's blessing. That kind of sucks for Asai, but I know he used to worship Sayama so he's probably living a dream.

Yeah, Asai has retired the legendary Ultimo Dragon gimmick, which he has sported for the past 12-13 years. He now wrestles as "The Tiger" as a way of paying homage to Sayama. Couldn't they have came up with a better name than "The Tiger?" It just sounds a bit too generic for someone the of Asai's status.

In even more disheartening news, Liger has expressed interest in working for WWE. Didn't he learn anything from Ulitmo's run? Vince will surely have him jobbing on Velocity within two months of his debut.

I understand he wants to write another chapter in his book, but now I wish he had kept being U.D. It's like Asai just said one day I want to bring back another legend and I will portray him.

I pray to *** that Liger doesn't go to WWE...just look at the storylines...they would probably make him where a pink suite and turn him gay if he was in WWE...sad but true.

What about Liger's match in WCW where he lost the IWGP jr. title to Juvy? That was stupid booking.

I would assume that Liger's main reason for wanting to go to the WWE would be so that he could simply be there taking up space, and then return to Japan a hero for proving that he was good enough to make it in the US. He certainly wouldn't make more money in the WWE. He may also find that working 2-4 minute matches 4 times/week is easier than New Japan's schedule, and want to go there so it will be easier on his body. Then again, there is also the possibility that he only appears to be sane, and is in fact completely out of his mind.

I saw that match and I was astonished how bad the match was in my mind on Juvi's part. I mean they give someone like Juvi a shot at the IWGP Jr Title...and my question is why?

It's actually pretty simple, and makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Russo was in charge, and had zero interest in working with New Japan. He was strongly behind Juvi, because he was a cruiserweight with charisma with semi-decent English. By double crossing New Japan and putting the belt on Juvi, he gets a big rub for one of his top undercard guys, and kills off the burden of the New Japan partnership. Just in case Juvi vs. Liger isn't enough to pop the quarter hour rating, you make it a crazy gimmick match. It did everything it was supposed to do. It got Juvi more over, made him look even stronger than he was for winning a title from another company, got rid of the New Japan relationship and brought viewers over from Raw that saw Juvi beat Japan's top junior. Building Liger up would be a waste of TV time since they only had him for 2 weeks anyway. From a business standpoint of selling sports entertainment, that was the best way they could have used him. It was worthless as wrestling, but that wasn't the point.

Both of those comments make me sad...
    Asai is no longer Ultimo...
    Liger thinking of WWE...
