Does anybody think this'll ever happen? I've actually lost a significant amount of interest in wrestling over the last 3 years, but in 2001 they were talking of it being a very legitamate possibilty.
I'd imagine both workers are very much banged up these days, but it'd still interest me.
"Marge, I agree with you in THEORY...In THEORY Communism works. In THEORY..."
There is also Misawa/Ogawa vs. Mutoh/Kea from NOAH's 7/10/04 Dome Show. They were talking about doing a singles match after that, but the rumor was it was called off because neither man wanted to do the job.
Hmm, Kawada wasn't around. Maybe that's why they were confused about who should do the job, the jerks.
When is the last time Mutoh beat Kawada? I know that Kawada has beaten Mutoh twice since Mutoh went to All Japan.
At one point I would have really enjoyed Mutoh/Misawa, but as they are getting older I get less and less excited about it. That and the fact that with their current positions, I know that my man Mutoh would job, which would make me a sad panda.
I was commenting more on Kawada jobbing to Misawa. I tend to overlooking when others job to him (and I'm not a big Mutoh fan; I was thinking more about Mutoh beating others).
While the match probably won't happen for a number of reasons, this has been in a dream match in Japan for more than 10 years. I offer as evidence the 1994 Squaresoft release Live-A-Live. During the Mecha chapter of the game there is a scene in an orphanage with a bunch of children sitting around watching puroresu. The show opens with the blockbuster match of Misawa vs. Mutoh. There is plenty of hard hitting back and forth action, and since the little orphans aren't old enough to know better, they cheer on Misawa the whole way. The crowd is going nuts the whole time, or so we are led to believe.
Who does the job you ask? The game forces you to move on before revealing the finish, so we will never know. But the fact remains that even Square's geeky programmers have wanted to see this match for more than a decade.
