My Puro MP3 theme collection all came from audiogalaxy, which can be found here you have to download their satelitte software, which acts (rather blatantly) like Napster, and search for "New Japan", and there should be a folder somewhere that contains lots of classic Puro themes.
I always thought Audiogalaxy was quite different from Napster since you have to go through all the trouble of choosing what bandwith you want a song to be in and didn't have to pick the user you got it from
Could you give a little more information about how to get to the NJ themes you're talking about? I'd love to add some classic NJ themes to my collection. All I've got is Vader's old "Eyes of the World" theme as the last few themes of the week from the puroresupower.com forum
Sure, just search for "New Japan". You should get a few results for various bands, like "Big In Japan", etc, but there should be one that has "New Japan" and "Hulk Hogan". Click on New Japan and it should take you to the folder. There's most of the classic ones there, in fact I just downloaded Inoki's this morning. Its got Chono's T2000 theme, Mutoh's Hold Out, Liger, Delfin, Hash, Sasaki's "take the dream". Its not really up to date, but it has the classics. Hope this helps.
Before anyone asks, yes I am the same Deadpool who has been doing theme of the week elsewhere
Personally, I prefer using WinMX for looking for themes as unlike most other file sharing/mp3 finding programs, it can handle Japanese text searches. OK, this does mean that the filenames you get back are in Japanese (Kinda. The font can't display them properly. Same effect as viewing a Japanese website with the browser encoding set to Western/English) but a fair amount of the time the files have a bit of English in them so you can usually have a fair stab at working out what a file is. Doing searches in English also works, but you're less likely to find puroresu themes that way unless you come across someone who has got a bunch of renamed ones.
Thanks a lot Deadpool. I really appreciate you posting that theme of the week. That's really good of you man. How did you ever come to know so much about puro themes anyway? Do you write them or something? With how much you know it sure seems like it sometimes...
Well, I'll freely admit that's the first time I've had someone ask me that I can tell you. Sorry to disappoint you, but no I don't write them. I'm just your average guy who happens to have a serious interest in puroresu themes. The ironic thing about this is that I don't have access to tapes either, only stuff I can download from the net.
Hopefully once I get another job and I can persuade my bank to finally give me a credit card, I'm going to spend some serious money on tapes and puroresu albums.
You can't get any any puro tapes? That sucks man. If you want to send me an email or PM I'll send you a list of what I've got and if you send a check or mo I'll be more than happy to hook you up. Not getting any puro - that just ain't right.
Well, I can and I can't get tapes. First problem (although only a temporary one) is lack of money which will be remedied once I'm back in work. The main problems are trying to find a decent UK based tape trader, or finding a US one that doesn't mind doing tapes in PAL rather than NTSC. I know someone is probably going to suggest StrongStyleTapes, but while he appears reliable he's also somewhat slow in getting newer stuff in.
On the flip side of the coin, I do fairly well at downloading matches from WinMX although it can be a bit random sometimes. At the moment, I'm getting the Otani/Ogawa match from the 3/2 Zero-ONE show and Kashin/Miyamoto from 2/24. I know, neither match is especially brilliant, but it's something at least
