    Gimmicks!!!!!!!

This board is supposed to be 4 all o'ya who wanna speak out about gimmicks they feel strongly about. As in:

Which u think woz the best gimmick ever?
Which u think woz the worst gimmick ever?
And, if u ever wrestled, which gimmick did u use?

for lesser-known gimmicks, explenations would help (if they are hard to understand that is. u don't have to explain Dr. Death)

Oh without a doubt, Hayabusa. The mask, the energy and the charisma he gave off was just an awesome masked gimmick. Cactus Jack comes a close second.

Which u think woz the worst gimmick ever?
Erm... there's a few.... Avatar for a start, Rockabilly, Aldo Montoya. Sadly, I don't like the look of FMW wrestler (or former FMW wrestler) Biomonster DNA

And, if u ever wrestled, which gimmick did u use
Unforgiven - a Raven-esque character with Chris Jericho like microphone skills and charisma.. that is, what little charisma I do have

Best ever - Vader. In his prime he was 100% believable as the most awesome monster heel ever

Worst ever - Doink the clown. Almost bearable as a heel, but when he turned face - oh dear....

Gimmick I would use - I don't know if they have "new age travellers" outside the UK, but that's the gimmick I'd use. I'd have multi-coloured dreadlocks, wear tie-dyed T-shirts and badly cut-off combat trousers, and I'd (supposedly) live in a mini-van, which I'm sure would provide for many amusing skits as I arrived at arenas in it....

    Best Gimmick:
From a cashcow stand point, Hulk Hogan or the nWo. From a personal point of view I loved a lot of the different mexican characters. I like there darker, move evil (satanic) characters.

    Worst Gimmick:
From a personal point of view Hulk Hogan, but to exapand upon this topic I would go with Mr. JL.

    Gimmick I used:
Now I admit this was with an on-line fed as I am way to small to wrestler. But my favorite gimmick was Americancyco. I guess you could describe him as a very dark and evil version of Vampiro.
And you see me with a smile on my face
And you know I'm a mental case

Best gimmick ever? That's a tough one to call. Vader was incredible in his prime(although he didn't have much of a "gimmick" per se), and then there's The Undertaker's demonic period between during the whole Ministry of Darkness thing. Great stuff.

Worst gimmick? Well, I would have to say there are 2 worst gimmicks ever. One is held by What? and the other is cooking up something that certaintly doesn't have a workrate anywhere near it...

And for the last, well, I do wrestle, and I've used a few gimmicks. In the NWA I was known as The Warlord(not to be confused with the roided freak from the 80s), an evil demonic psycho muthaf***a who only had 1 goal in life - to see The Colorodo Kid put 6 feet under. Came to an abrupt end when Terry Taylor went to WCW, but that's a long story. Currently I'm called The Experience, and am basically just myself. I put over workrate, have a "never say die" type of attitude and currently hold the Heavyweight Title. I'm also "involved" with the promoter in kayfabe, who happens to be really hot Ah, how I love being the bookerman...

My fav "gimmick"? It has to be Hayabusa. For one thing, he had the coolest look in wrestling. He was also sympatethic, remember all the times he got his @$$ kicked then cried backstage? I love his music too.

Worst... Terry Taylor as red rooster. Or Lasertron, or arachnaman, or the ding dongs............

Dont know about my own. I do know that I was watching UFC earlier and Tito Ortiz has the coolest entrance I have ever seen. So I would *have* to rip it off

Which u think woz the best gimmick ever?
-Not really a gimmick, but I always found Akira Hokuto's Dangerous Queen character very compelling and extremely deep.
Atsushi Onita's number as a deranged hardcore icon during his NJPW stint was also very good, he should consider acting
I enjoy most japanese punk heel gimmicks, they seem to bring a whole lot more attitude and disrespect to it.
The Honky Tonk Man (how to turn a disaster of potentially Rockabilly proportion into a success), "Mr McMahon" (another one who should consider switching jobs for acting ) and a few others also stand out as successful or landmark gimmicks IMO.

Which u think woz the worst gimmick ever?
-If there must be only one: face Doink
If there's space left over in the garbage bin: TL Hopper, Damian 666, Mantaur...

And, if u ever wrestled, which gimmick did u use
    -N/A

The best gimmick that I like was The Great Muta. I don't know why, but it was awsome. I also like the ounk heel gimmicks too.

For the worst I would have to say Doink.

I can't really think of a gimmick for me

Muta and The Road Warriors were very good gimmicks. So was ECW's verison of Taz. Cactus Jack was good too.

Worst gimmicks had to be Gobbledy Gooker, LaserTron or even Bastion Booger.

My gimmick was very straight forward. I was a wrestler and didn't appreciate the glitz, flash and highspots. Unfortuately in Ontario that is not fan friendly to have such a gimmick.
The name of the game is wrestling!

Best? Well I'm a "evil mist user" mark, I liked Muta, Nita, Kabuki, ect...

worst? just about every WCW 1992-1995 gimmick...remember when Tugboat (Typhoon) was the Shockmaster I believe it was? Booooo!

My gimmick is (ironicly enough) a "evil mist user" gimmick. Basically I talk trash on every Americian based wrestler and go on about how the Puro style is better...then I mist them and hook on the old Spinning Kudo Driver heh heh heh....actually there is more to it but If some one out there REALLY is interested ask.

    Gotta love the Repo-Man.

For mere longevity and crowd reaction I would have to ay the original Undertaker. Although I never liked it myself it lasted almost a decade and only got stronger up until 99.

Worst has a much larger selection. Art Barr's original gimmick of the juicer was terrible and the debut of the Shockmaster was indeed rank. Fred Ottman baasically wore a cape and a stormtrooper helmet (literally the Star Wars helmet) with purple glitter on it. And then as he burst through the wall he tripped over the skirting. What a berk.

    Best gimicks

Kane - The fact hes boring in the ring dont stop the fact that his gimick convays menace in pretty much any match hes in. Plus it does not limate him in the ring in the same way as the undertakers old deadman gimick did.

Bret "Hitman" Hart - Probably the coolest look of any wrestler on gods green earth. In the ring the gimick ment that he never took riskes meaning his matches had a believeable edge to them.

Hayabusa - Not seen him much but his look is certainly the best of any masked wrestler iv seen. I spose his in ring gimick was that he went for the kill with every move.

Vader - He really was a scary man in his WCW days

"million dollar man" ted dibiase - The best heel gimick ever IMHO just cose you could never ever consider him turning face. The million dollar belt looked more like the $2:50 belt tho

    Worst Gimicks

I.R.S - Calling the audience tax cheats and telling a bill clinton impresonator that you admire him for rasing taxes does not a gimick make

Fake razor and fake deisel - Made me embarrised to watch whenever they wrestled.

The sultan - The gimick was right out of 1985 and those shoes were right out of my worst nightmares.

    Gimick id use

Mr Whippy- I could drive an icecream van down to ringside at big PPV's then fill my beaten enemies mouth with whipped cream and stick a flake in.
