Well, does anybody know if there are some puroresu movies out there ala Ready To Rumble (horrible example, I know. But it's the only wrestling movie I know about )
All I know of is....
GAEA Girls
The Foul King
I know Foul King is Korean, but it does deal with a young lion trying to make it to Japan. Plus it has a "Ultra Tiger Mask" guy in it .
I think I've heard of a japanese TV show set in a fictitious Joshi fed, but I'm not really certain...
For wrestling movies, though, I just came across a fanzine dedicated to Santo's movies today . There's literally scores of them, with cool titles like "Santo contra las Momias", "Santo contra el medico asesino" (so that's where they get those rudo doctor gimmicks from!), "Santo contra los Marcianos", "Santo in Haiti", "Santo against the vampire-women"... They even have blue movie versions of some of them that were never released in Mexico (so Sasuke didn't invent anything ), and I found some DVD releases with commentary by Hijo de Santo.
B-Series with monsters and wrestling, what's up wit dat?
I believe Sasuke put out a really confusing spy film, and Liger did a film with a monster version of himself. I think RF Video has it.
I think it's called Fist of Thunder.

I just came across this new not yet released film. Problem is it's not a 'wrestling' movie but I thought it was kinda cool because it stars Bruno Sammartino! www.SaloonaticsMovie.com is where I saw it. He plays a mob boss! I got a kick out of that!
The Jushin Liger gimmick was also stolen from an 80's anime who's name I can't recall. If Dr. Feelgood would post link where to get those Santo DVDs I'd be really grateful
I found "Santo contra las Momias" (full with english and french versions, and commentary by Hijo Del Santo ) down in a local DVD shop. It was edited by: http://www.vcientertainment.com
But I'm not sure whether they're bringing out more Santo movies.
The links I posted above should work now.
There's even a trailer for Santo vs the Martians on vcientertainment.com
Tradewynd, could you tell me if you find any other Santo movies?
Thanks.
