Where are the true pioneers of junior heavyweight division in Japan such as Tatsumi Fujinami, Gran Hamada, and Chavo Guerrero??? Kuniaki Kobayashi? Pete Roberts? "Rollerball" Mark Rocco, the original Black Tiger?

I would have voted for Fujinami, so I went with Dynamite in a sqeaker over Tiger Mask.

Also, I don't think Benoit, El Samurai, or Eddie really belong on this list. That's not to say that they aren't great, but in a conversation as to who is the absolute #1, IMO those guys don't belong. That's just me, though.

i voted for Lyger. Cuz well, he had proved to be capable of wrestling almost any style. He can fly with the best of them, mat-wrestle with the best of them, he's exciting (90% of the time), he knows his psychology, he's tough (tumour and all that crap), what more could you ask for?

    Exclamation Voted Lyger...

As I had seen more of his work than most. Almost voted Eddie or Benoit but I felt the top cruiser I saw in WCW/WWE besides Lyger was Malenko.

Whatever, TM1 was overrated. I'd take Benoit over him any day of the week.

how dare you say TM1 is over-rated!

He is the bombestest junior in the 80's, early 90's, and he does stuff that perhaps not even juniors nowadays are able to do. Example: his Tigerspin drop-toe-hold move. Find me someone who can do it as fast and as smooth as Mr. Sayama.

Err.... I just voted, so it aint closed.

I voted Eddie Guerrero. Benoit may be a bit better, but Guerrero always has an entertaining match. Benoit sometimes doesnt thrill me (but always impresses)

Not one person voted Ultimo Dragon. One of the three reasons I got into Japanese wrestling.(Kobashi/Otani) At least he has my vote.

I view him in the same way I do Dean Malenko. With much respect. Both are extremely creative, solid wrestlers, but not the best. They both seem to lack the flair or ring presence of their contemporaries, of which they often helped train.
