    best lucha moves

what is the best lucha/lucharesu style move? doesn't have to be one stock move, it can be a spot or a whole sequence. i'd have to say i'm quite partial to the tope con hilo.

I seriously can't peg it down to one move. After seeing a few T2P shows, I saw moves I could never imagine happening, and I still understand what they are and how they do them. It just blows my mind. Seriously, guys, you have to check T2P out, it is just awesome.

from what i saw of T2P, i REALLY wasn't impressed at all. Mebbe i just saw two very bad matches, i don't know. But one of them involves EVERYBODY's favourite wrestler Milano Collection AT, how could that be bad? Well, it's my first time seeing the guy and i still find it bad.

I mean, first of all there's this guy who salutes every 10 seconds or something. Completely disrupts the match flow and i don't find it funny the least bit. Mebbe it'll be funny when he does it at the most unexpectedly odd times, but certainly not every 10 seconds.

Other than that, pretty much NONE of the wrestlers have any believable facial expression. Not even EVERYBODY's favourite Milano Collection AT. The whole match he just looks like he's trying to remember the spots or something. We can't have that, folks. That takes away a lotta points out of believability. In other words, TOO GREEN. Mebbe my judgement is too high because i was expecting Kawada-level of believability? I don't know.

What i DO find "okay" to "good" about them, is their athletic ability. Many smooth moves and such. BUT, i don't know if it's the guy's specialty or anything, but one guy i saw, he does WAY too much flip-flop on the mat, almost even more so then RVD! I deem that unnecessary, mebbe because i find the move not built up for earlier, and that it just comes out of nowhere. Now, you can argue that "hey, moves that come out of nowhere equals unpredictable excitement!!!!" but i'd tell ya that's not quite the case.

See, don't think that i don't enjoy lucharesu. ANY self-respecting puroresu fan out there should enjoy good lucharesu, and i do too.
In fact, you won't find me having much bad things to say about Michinoku Pro or even Toryumon itself. Fact is, both of these also have moves that come out of nowhere, to which i would mark out greatly, just like it was intended to be. But they all have a buildup to it. Mebbe not one that knocks your head to tell you it's a buildup, but they'll have subtle subtle buildup that will slowly pull you to the edge of your seat, and THEN pull a suprise move out of nowhere. In the T2P match i saw, however, i was relaxing in my seat and not caring one bit when he executes the move.

One last thing, what's with the camera angle? It's like a STATIC far-view that doesn't change for most of the match (except for the VERY few and far-between ringside view). I might go as far as to say that my previous points are ALL invalid because the camera was too far and that i failed to see all the genius details that is T2P!

Alright, please feel free to respond to my post. I didn't waste my time voicing out just so no one responds to me, foo!!!

Alright, clarkone68, thanks for pointing out that you're the only one on the boards who know English, and that all other forms of internet spelling are prohibited in this board!

On the other hand, i thank you for for agreeing with my post. Since you didn't counter-point any of the things i say in my post, other than the smallest nit-picking of my spelling, i take it that you are in agreement with what i had expressed.

    In response to Muiyan's mini-novel:

I agree with you on many points: There is an overall lack of psychology, and they do not build up to moves as well as they could. But here's the thing: I love it for what it is, overembellished lucha matwork. When I want to see 45 minutes of deep psychology leading up to a powerbomb, I watch a Misawa match. When I want to see two guys rolling around on the mat stretching each other in ways I've never imagined, I turn to T2P.

As for the camera angle, I don't know what's up with that, maybe it was just those particular matches.
