Christopher Daniels has signed a long term deal with TNA, which is probably a good move for him and is a guy TNA desperately needs...but there is one problem.
Since Daniels first signed with TNA, Curry Man has not made an appearance anywhere on the planet. I greatly enjoy Daniels' serious work, but every so often, you need something that's hot. You need something that's spicy. You need something that just tastes great. You have to see the Spicy Dance. Those 4 things only come together in one place - Curry Man.
After Chris Daniels takes his proper place as a headliner, perhaps there will be room for Curry Man in the X Division. Then America will finally get the taste of Y2C it so desperately needs.
I don't think the Curry Man gimmick would get over with an American crowd to be honest... it'd be nice to see it again but I wouldn't want to see it harm Daniels' career in the US.
Looks like were just gonna have to wait for the spiciness.
“Happy peanuts soar over chocolate covered mountaintops and waterfalls of caramel. Prancing nougat in the meadow sings a song of satisfaction to the world.”

It probably wouldn't work in TNA, but if Curry Man showed up in ROH, especially unadvertised, he'd blow the roof off the place.
Even if TNA did try it and it flopped, nothing would set his career back like Russo getting taken out of WCW in early 2000. Daniels was getting primed for a HUGE push before Kevin Sullivan took over. I can't see Curry Man not getting over with casual fans that don't buy tickets putting his career back 4 years. No one can hold Daniels back like the former Mr. Woman.
Yeah, every time I see Daniels on Impact! I can't help but yearn for good old Curryman, he was a riot.
I remember the first Curryman match I saw, it was a 6 man tag with no one else I recognized.. from 1999 or 2000.. but there were two really short guys. One that looked like, from his build, Mini-Vader and the other.. I don't know. Blue tights, blue mask with white hair... and he wouldn't sell a move for anything.
So anyway, the match ends with one of the wrestlers leaping to the top rope for maybe a spaceman plancha. Curryman runs up behind him, leaps onto the same rope this guy is standing on, and slams him back down with a rock bottom type move. Then the "Spishy Drop!" as the announcer put it.. absolutely a riot, and a **** good match too.
Actually, Daniels competed as Curry Man at an Inoki Dojo show in Santa Monica last year against El Samurai, if my memory serves me correctly. He was hugely over with the crowd. I'm probably in the minority in thinking that he'd get over even more with the gimmick in TNA, perhaps even WWE.
