Arsion's Melissa has sent in about a half dozen e-mails into her message board from her current tour. She is going to appear in a AJW tag match on 8/30 I hope it's the show they're doing in the parking garage. She doesn't go into a lot of detail about any one subject but they are worth reading. It's at www.cheerleadermelissa.com/ if you are interested.
Melissa will be appearing on AJW's Explosion at Obaida on Aug. 27 in the Fuji TV parking lot. Melissa will be teaming with Bionic J vs Miyuki Fujii & Tsubasa Kuragaki. The main event will be Kaoru Ito vs Nanae Takahashi for the WWWA title. At last week's GAEA show, Yumiko Hotta showed up to challenge Aja Kong to a vale tudo match at this show because she was upset with GAEA's use of Zenjo in one of their angles. It had been rumoured that Hotta would do this. Aja turned her down flat and basically told her she had a lot of nerve. I don't know if this is a work or a shoot. We'll see.
Wow... It's amazing that a young female wrestler from an indie promotion (Wow.. Pretty small venue) got an opportunity to work in an Joshi Promotion like ARSION. Also seeing that she can making some amazing frankensteiners and swinging DDTs and can sell some moves, she really does deserve to work for ARSION.
Hmm... About that one dude that she's wrestled, that's Hayabusa's entrance theme and I'm assuming that he's a fan of Hayabusa.
In her last post she says she has one more show before her contract expires and she heads back. I hope she does another tour with them soon I kind of like to watch her matches with Arsion. They gave her a long winning streak before jobbin' her out to Yoshida so they must be pretty happy with her. I don't know if she can find a place to work over here.
Cheerleader Melissa & Taylor Matheny are coming back to the US after this weekends shows. ARSION's purpose in inviting US women wrestlers to Japan was to expose them to training methods they wouldn't be exposed to here. They never intended to hire them permanently. It will be interesting to see how Melissa & Taylor use what they've learned when they return. This is the first time ARSION's done this and it seems like it was pretty successful. By the beginning of 2003, we'll know if they'll do it again.
Most definitely. Melissa is my favorite American female wrestler now. I saw her for the first time on the 7-4 Arsion TV show and I was impressed. I haven't got any of her work with APW but I've started to buy up as many Arsion tapes as I can get my hands on and she can work a good match. She also looks like a wrestler should look- tall and athletic. Taylor isn't as good as Melissa but really shouldn't be. She needs to work regular matches like she has been doing. I wish someone had a promotion where they could work in the USA. My gut feeling is they will be back with Arsion next year. They got treated very well by the Arsion people judging from Melissa's messages.
I do think ARSION will invite two more wrestlers to train with them in 2003 but I don't think it will be these two. Melissa has a regular gig with UPW in California and will want to continue her development there. Taylor's from Seattle and there are no indy feds in the Northwest. Like you said, she needs to work regularly. She wasn't doing that before she went to Japan. My fave North American wrestler is Phoenix. She works for the AWF here in Toronto. I saw her wrestle Sumie Sakai in June and it was a tremendous match. Phoenix won the Glory Wrestling title in July and is part of WXW's womens title tournament next week. I expect her to win the tournament.
Here's a quote from the Battlecard section of the Arsion website by way of babelfish- * As for the Taylor*( Methany and Melissa) you return home with this tournament. As for next time the New Year series schedule.- I would at least think Arsion has made them an offer whether they will take it will be another story.
I don't that's a porn site Franceman, but it would be equally entertaining if it were Seriously though, this chick has got it together. Easily the second best white women in wrestling today(behind Nora of course).
