A Newbie To Joshi...

I will admit to having no knowledge on Joshi puroresu. I want to however, and wanna know if anyone can recommend to me a tape/set of tapes preferably on highspots that is a good representation of Joshi and what it is all about. I'm guessing there are so many it would be hard to single out one, but any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I've just checked out Highspots and I think these tapes are "a good representation" of what's is out there.

GAEA- #65 or #67(These two shows are pretty good and they are joshi's hottest fed right now plus they have the best roster.)
ARSION- Arsion's greatest matches, vol.1(This tape cover's Arsion early years when they were at their best if you want a more recent tape try this show- 5-12-02.)
AJW- Dreamslam 2 part 2(If you only buy one tape make it this one.)
NEO and Jd I haven't watched enough shows to comment on.

Well from what you said, probably the Dreamslam tape. But, if you don't mind telling me, why only part 2? I guess it is part of a large event, so why not tape 1?

Oh, and it may be a while before I actually buy any tapes. Being a poor student has its drawbacks...

It was a 5 1/2 hour show so Highspots must have split it up onto two tapes. Last time I checked Prowrestlingtapes was selling it as one complete show. You can read a review here. I recommended it because the main event is my favorite Joshi match. It also was in my first Joshi tape order.

Personally, I would recommend Dreamslam I if you're only getting one Joshi show. Although it is a little older, it is, in my opinion, the greatest wrestling show of all time. No match on the 5 1/2 hour card was less than **1/2, and there only one that was that "bad".

I think one show worth checking out is the AJW BIG EGG WRESTLING UNIVERSE commercial tapes from '94. It's right up there with the Dreamslams and features:

....not too shabby
