Hello, this is my first post on this forum. Nice to meet everyone.
(I debated putting this in the FMW forum, but I figured it would fit either place. Sorry if I chose wrong.)
In a match I saw versus Shark Tsuchiya, Megumi Kudo came out in a gold "kung fu" style outfit (baggy top and pants) and a big hood/mask on. Underneath, when she removed the cowl, her face was painted half black with a pink line down the middle.
Sort of like a "Darkside Kudo" or "Great Kudo."
In this guise her gimmick was different, she would scream and reach towards the sky. She even did the top rope zombie-like walk into a springboard rana onto Shark. (which I've never seen her do) Before the match, her promo was to stare like zombie into the camera with the face paint on.
And she spit Green and Red poison mist during the match.
I don't know the date of this match, but it appears on the FMW dvd "THE LEGEND DAWNS."
Does anybody know any more about this gimmick/alter ego?
Wow! I've always loved Megumi Kudo! Actually, I didn't know she used that cool gimmick. My friend told me that she used to have an Arabian girl gimmick or something like that.

Yeah she did have an early 90s Arabian entrance gimmick where she wore shiny Sabu-style pants, a matching vest, puffy shirt, and a veil to the ring.
She also had a "fairy princess" entrance gimmick where she came to the ring in a white ballarina type dress/jacket, a tiara, and even a little magic wand in hand.
But with both these she removed it all and wrestled in her classic one-leg gear and was good old Megumi in the ring.
In the "Great Kudo" gimmick she was playing a totally different character in the ring all together, and keeping her costume on. She even changed her moveset, though in the one match I have she finishes Shark with a tiger bomb, which is one of her normal finishers.
I have Kudo's SQUALL and ANTHOLOGY on vhs, and they show the character I'm speaking of and Kudo talking about it, but I don't speak Japanese!
Very frustrating.
To bad they're not on dvd with English subtitles...
From what I can gleen, she adopted this persona after her split with Combat Toyoda.
Another gimmick I've seen her in is during a match with Bad Nurse Nakamura she's in gray & white camoflague pants, a gray combat vest and combat boots. She also has like three stripes painted on her cheek. (Like a disciple of Mr. Pogo)
In this match she threw red powder in Nakamura's face at one point. (It looks like a street fight.)
Actually dude if you're looking for compilation tapes of the best of Megumi Kudo you can find them at this website along with tons of other Joshi wrestling greats. http://www.impacthosting.com/manzerman/
I've dealt with Manzer on many occasions and he's a great tape dealer.

Hey thanks alot.
Always good to find recommended tape dealers and he has one of the tapes I'm looking for.
Another "Great Kudo" spotting, though I still haven't figured out what the angle was behind this gimmick. I've also learned the dates of the matches:
7/18/95 - Shark Tsuchiya vs. Megumi Kudo (FMW)
&
11/16/96 - RIE vs. Megumi Kudo (FMW)
And though she uses the gold Kung Fu outfit again, her face is painted different, with moons and writing more like the Great Muta. She uses the Poison Mist in this match also.
There wasn't really an angle as far as Megumi's "Great Kudo" gimmick is concerned. She just seemingly came out of nowhere with it. When she was announced before the beginning of the match she was still announced as Megumi Kudo and the spelling of her name remained the same. It was just Megumi trying something different a couple times and that's pretty much it.
Also the dates mentioned are the only times she used the gimmick.
