The PWF posted on their website forums this news regarding Ayako Hamada's upcoming US appearances:
"...As already reported in the Japanese magazines and on 1wrestling.com, the Premier Wrestling Federation is thrilled to announce that All Japan Women's WWWA World champion AYAKO HAMADA will debut in the PWF on Friday night July 11 at the Hoffman Building in Quarryville, PA and then compete at Academy Hall on Sunday afternoon July 13 in Pottstown!
Who will she wrestle?
Will she defend the WWWA World title?
Will she challenge for the PWF Universal title?
And I also saw this in the "Moonsaults" column at 1wrestling.com:
"...Sumie Sakai will be in the U.S. from 6/12 through 8/30. She will be working for Sheldon Goldberg's New England Championship Wrestling on 6/14. She is also looking for other indy bookings. Promoters interested can contact Goldberg at NECWoffice@aol.com..."
I'll most definitely be able to catch Hamada at PWF, but I hope maybe they can get Sakai also since she's also in the area.
It looks like she won't be here very long. The WWE is running Yokohama on the 18th and Kobe on the 19th. I'm sure she will be back in Japan by then. I was kind of hopeing for a longer "tour".

Yeah, PWF said on their website that she'll be back in Japan before July 18th.
But was does the WWE being in Japan have to do with Hamada?
Ayako Hamada has wanted to work for the WWE for a long time. After she left ARSION she tried for a few months to get hired by them but no dice. I'm sure she hasn't given up she'll be at the shows networking.
Ayako is too young for the WWE. They have an age requirement of 23 for hiring women. Supposedly, this is because of Stacy Kiebler's lack of maturity when she came to the WWE a couple of years ago. It appears Ayako is coming for the two shows announced and that's it.
The funny thing about it is when she left Arsion she was a perfect fit for the WWE. She was 20 years old at the top of her game as far as looks and in ring work plus the WWE hadn't yet started degrading it's women's division with jello matches. Now that she isn't anymore all sort of things are lining up in her favor- she holds the top joshi title, she isn't under contract to any promotion, the WWE is more interested in Japan than its ever been, Johnny Ace has taken over some of Jim Ross's personel duties, WWE has lost a large part of it's audience, WWE is willing to sign people it would have never touched in the past, wrestling economics have swung from the workers back to the promotions favor, the WWE is unhappy with its women's division, her style of wrestling would fit the present WWE better than any of the top joshi workers today. It's weird the way the wrestling business works.

I don't think the WWE will ever go to far to expand its women's division into elite levels. Though I suppose adding Jazz was a smart move. And Victoria was hired to wrestle, not to strip.
In the recent RAW magazine they put Gail Kim over as a good wrestler, and being in RAW magazine I guess is saying she'll be in the Women's Division and not over on SMACKDOWN with the valets. (Not counting Stacey who's become more of a manager/valet of late.) Sadly, knowing WWE, Kim will most likely be their "token" Asian girl.
NWA/TNA on the other hand might be doing something with the NWA Women's title soon. This belt was actually won by Leilani Kai on a darkmatch at the 03/03/12 TNA ppv. Plus their main women wrestler Trinity beat their X-Division champ in a non-title match. And are now giving a BIG push to the new girl Tracy.
So maybe TNA will give the US audience and alternative in Women's Wrestling, and maybe bring us some women from around the world especially Japan. And maybe Hamada will get a shot there the week she's in the US for the PWF shows.
Don't hold your breath waiting for the NWA:TNA to do a womens division anytime soon. The dark match you're referring to was over two months ago and they've done nothing since and I don't expect them to do anything. That version of the NWA World Womens Title is an insult to the legacy of the title held by Mildred Burke & June Byers. It shows how screwed up the NWA is today. This version of the title was created by Dave Republic of NWA Republic because he could get away with it. This was Madison's first title defense outside British Columbia and she's gone back to working for Vancouver indy fed ECCW. I get a little tired of overly optimistic fans hoping the NWA:TNA will start a womens division. They won't do it because Jeff Jarrett said publicly that he hates women wrestlers. My criteria is that when he admits publicly that he was wrong, then they'll do it. I don't believe he'll ever do that. All they're doing is throwing bones so you'll buy their PPV and so certain fan clubs will stop sending them emails. Trinity is the only woman wrestler under contract. The rest are paid on a per show basis. They use the women to enhance the men and that's all they're going to do. I agree that they should do more but the NWA:TNA is all about unrealized potential and poor booking so I'm not surprised.

I'm not sure what you mean about this. This is a different NWA Women's Title?
(And honestly, most of the NWA titles have been belittled through the years haven't thay?)

Well, being positive about what might come has always been the wrestling fans lot in life. (disappointed 95% of the time goes hand-in-hand.)

Since the Panda Marks took over, Jarrett isn't the sole man in control anymore, so there's a chance the PTB might be interested in providing another alternative to WWE where they can. Don't get me wrong, I'm not holding my breath for it to happen, but if SOMEBODY doesn't bring it up it'll never happen for sure.

Trinity beat the X-Division Champion 1-on-1. How does that enhance the men? I don't see it enhancing anything but Trinity's wrestling ability.
TNA has gotten better. WWE is all about unrealized potential and poor booking too, and much worse than TNA is, imo.
I suppose transfering the title could just have been a favor for the NWA board, but TNA has added more ladies like Alexis, and Tracy. And Simply Luscious and Valentina (as "VJ Love") are doing darkmatches for XPlosion. So whether they plan to do anything with it or not, NWA/TNA is building women wrestlers.
Here's Ayako's plan for now taken from her fanclub's website. June 7-13 she'll be touring with K-DOJO. July 11th she'll wrestle in Pennsylvania for the PWF women's belt and on the 13th she will be defending the red belt. September 11-16 she'll be wrestling in Mexico and sightseeing with her fanclub. She will be back in PWF in October. I think she will win the PWF belt and keep it through October she will most likely have lost the WWWA title by then and can return and drop the PWF belt.
I really believe that if Prowrestling doesn't go the way of Roller Derby somebody will start up a successful Women's division in the USA sometime soon. The "Annika effect" last week really changed my opinion about what people want to see. It's a shame the PGA jobbed her out early I was curious if they could keep those extra million viewers around. In this country women will flock to a strong character they can identify with no matter what sport or industry they are in and by excluding those characters the wrestling industry is really alienating a huge group of potential fans. Someone will come around to the idea of trying to reach those potential fans someday soon.
The PGA jobbed Annika out? What are you smoking Ken? Remember golf is a sport and pro wrestling isn't. Annika was a long shot at best to make the cut and it's no surprise that she didn't. The whole thing was a publicity stunt to spike interest in the LPGA. Nick Price was right. So where do you see in your crystal ball that someone is going to start a successful womens fed in the US? All attempts to do so over the last couple of years have stalled because no one has the money to do it. And I don't count CRUSH, GLOW or GLOOW because I don't consider any of them successful or about wrestling. The others that have tried have died or won't happen because they're all broke. Who are you talking about? Ayako is supposed to defend the red belt in August so she'll probably lose it to Momoe at that time. I still don't understand why they put it on her in the first place.
They jobbed her out like she was in a thumbtack match with Abdullah the Butcher. Both my brother and I tend to refer to both sporting events and world events in wrestling terms. It tends to confuse people sometimes no offense intended. Nick Price is wrong interest in the LPGA is a side effect of Annika's playing the reason for it was to get us to sit on our couch and eat twinkies while watching Buick commercials. Advertising controls everything we see on TV from the nightly news to the lowly late night infomercial and that includes the PGA. I don't really need a crystal ball when I can watch the business news, advertisement budget shifts, entertainment trends, and disposable income patterns among other things. You said in your post nobody has had the money or the creative talent to make a womens promotion stick but assume somebody did? Wouldn't that mean it would just be a matter of convincing that person that it was worth doing? I can go even further and say you don't even need creative talent as long as your willing to hire creative minds in your writing and marketing departments. Let me ask you a question if you had the money and were willing to start such a promotion who would hire to run it for you?
