I just got my DVDs this weekend, and I was extremely happy with them. I'm glad I listen to you all about these shows.
on Dream Rush, I loved the Hokuto/Kyoko match, and the Aja/Bull match. But the Best was definately Toyota/ Yamada vs Ozaki/Kansai. Ringmistress, you will not be disappointed.
Dreamslam was perfect, just about every match ruled. I ceremony for all the big names over the years was cool, all the lists for this show never mentions that, I wonder why. Any and all Newbies, buy this show NOW!
when I can afford it, I'm going to get Dreamslam 2 and Big Egg next, and after that maybe all the Wrestlemarinepiads from 89 to 95. I would love to get some Mid to late Eighties stuff too, maybe I can find some when I go to Japan.
This is uncanny, and you're right, I definitely dug the tag match. That was wild! When it comes to Toshiyo Yamada, I think a certain internet recapper said it best: CASA EN FUEGO! She rocked the house, my friend. Oz was so evil, it was awesome. I really enjoyed the retirement ceremony of Bison Kimura. I read about her career, especially Jungle Jack with Aja. For a bison, she sure is beautiful, lol. I'll see more of her stuff down the road.
Hokuto/Kyoko was sweet. I have to say Akira looked sexy with the haircut. But she was especially crafty, and that's just one of the reasons why she's one of the best of all time. Kyoko's flying elbows are cool looking, and I've never seen her that slim before. Aja and Bull was special, especially at the end with Bison. You immediately had the feeling that a new era was dawning, and it most certainly was.
Daishikaze, I can recommend some stuff. First of all, if you want Big Egg cheap, but good looking, do what I did and go to prowrestlingtapes.com. They have the whole show on two tapes, and it's only $24 for both (most tapes are 12 bucks each with free shipping). If you want even more interpromotional goodness, you could also get JWP Thunderqueen Battle. We've already seen JWP get beat in Zenjo's turf in Dream Rush, but wait until you see what happens when Zenjo visits JWP country! Aja, Kyoko, Sakie and Takako vs. Kansai, Cutie, Oz and Fukuoka. Buy it for that main event, you won't regret it. Trust me.
Yamada was really taking control in that match, Toyota was just getting beat on most of the time. Oz was great, I had to laugh more than once about how mean she was hehe. Kansai rules with her kicks though she nailed them both pretty hard. I have to say , Oz kicked out at 2, I can't believe the ref just kept counting , I think that was alittle cheap. Otherwise it was great. The Bull/Aja match was great, the emotion at the end was amazing. I knew Bull was going to lose from the begining, but I was still surprised in the end, I really wanted her to win. I think Aja is great, don't get me wrong, but she's no Bull Nakano.
The Retirement ceremony was cool, they really make a big deal about such things over there, not like in the US, where some just says"I retire", and disappears because no one really cares. Poor Kyoko, every time Akira beat her like a drum, she had this look on her face like " can I go home now? Please?, you can have the belt, I just want to go home", I felt sorry for her.
I know Prowrestlingtapes.com, I got a bunch of FMW tapes from them a few years back. I was very happy with them. its not really a matter of money, Its just that its not all mine, its mine and my wifes, so I have to run it by her first(see, not all men do things without consulting their wife ), She hates Wrestling PERIOD, so you can imagine how tough it is to get any tapes. I was lucky with this order who knows when I can convince her nexts haha.
I heard about the Thunder Queen Battle, I want that one for sure, maybe it will be safer to just get everything up til 97.
