I've been picking up J'd shows over the past few months and its alot of fun to watch. What would make it even more enjoyable is if I understood the angles/storylines, cuz they look hilarious. Emi Tojo(?) would be incredible in the WWE, just by her looks and delivery and voice and laugh, and heck, I dunno what she's saying but it sounds golden.
Where can I get information and history about this promotion and it's wrestlers? Sad to hear that it is splitting off with some of their best people leaving. But anyway, Thanks.
I think I've discussed this with you before. Forget about English and get your translator out. You have to go to Japanese sites to find what you're looking for. I post news on my joshi Yahoo group daily. In fact, I posted a Yumi Ohka interview yesterday that I got from Nikkan Sports. Basically, what happened at JD is they fired all the wrestlers and now they only employ Athtresses. The wrestlers, led by The Bloody & Fang Suzuki, are starting their own company called Team OK. Their first show will be in September. Some of them have worked for JD as freelancers.
Emi Tojyo has basically retired from wrestling to concentrate on her acting career. Tojyo suffered a broken neck in Oct. 2002 trying to do a sunset flip on that big slug TSUNAMI. In Mar. 2003 before the Sumie Sakai Farewell Show, she told the Japanese wrestling media that she would have to retire. But when she participated in the show, she let her emotions get the best of her and announced that she would return. So JD teased her return for over a year including a rather pathetic bait & switch in Sept. 2003 and even made her commissioner. Tojyo finally returned to the ring a couple of months ago and then announced her retirement shortly afterwards. Obviously she can't take bumps anymore. BTW, I got a bunch of JD DVDs recently on eBay. I wonder if they're the same ones you got.
