No she wasn't. Lioness Asuka holds the title last time I checked. I dunno if she's jobbed it to Michiko Ohmukai or not.... I doubt it as Asuka is one of those bookers with a political agenda, from report I have heard
You could say Lioness is one of the reasons Ayako left Arsion. Ayako mentioned the reason for her leaving was backstage politics. A trivial reason why i mention so much about her is I guess I have what people would call a "crush" , her and Michiko Ohmukai. And yes I believe Lioness Asuka is the holder of the Queen of Arsion title, either her or Mariko Yoshida.

Ah, ok I see now. The places I go for my Joshi info. aren't updated quite as often as they should be.
You know, Even though I am a fan of hers, I find it hard to have sympathy for Ayako. She seemed to have been given titles and such very early in her career. I hope her quitting insn't just a tantrum for having to lose the title to Lioness.
It wasn't really a tantrum. You try working in a company where a) someone decides to try and run your anme through the mud because your young, talented and over, b) where your push is determined by backstage politics... see (a) again... and c) your not allowed to work a tournament to determine a number one contender for the title... now tell me she's not got a just reason to leave Arsion.
They gave her the title when she was young. She started wrestling for ARSION when she was 16/17. She's a goot three to four year veteran at the company, and the fact she was crazy over saw Aja Kong (miss her booking) see potential in giving her the title. When Aja left, all sorts of crazy stuff happened conceraning Ayako and her push.
I strongly believe she didn't leave because of a tantrum. She's been said to have good backstage work ethics. And I believe that, seeing as she's a daughter of El Gran Hamada: one of the most modest wrestlers in Japan today and in the yesteryear.
Hmm I can definetly see your point there.
But I can say that other Joshi wrestlers have put up with more and still stayed put. (see: Uematsu, Toshie).
But don't get me wrong. I am a big fan of Ayako (even have a autogrphed pic from joining the ARSION fan club), and wish her all the best....but if she's complaining of backstage politics now, wait until she gets to the WWF.
Thats still IF, and even if she does get signed who longs how long you'll have to wait to see her. Remember she may have go through a developmental deal from OVW and Memphis. But like I said...its a big IF.

Yeah, Cuty had a Sega megadrive (Genesis) game!!
Lioness Asuka still has the title. She faces Yoshida on 2/17. She recently went to a draw with Ohmukai. Ayako is kind of in dead water. I'd like her in Gaea, but remeber that Nagayo has that bond with Asuka, so probably a no-no. AJW is my favorite promotion, but Ayako wouldn't ever go over their own talent. J'd or Neo, or JWP would be her best bet to go straight to the top, even if it isn't what anyone really wants for her.
